Pope denounces gay marriage lobby to US bishops
Pope Benedict XVI waded deep into U.S. campaign politics Friday, urging visiting U.S. bishops to beef up their teaching about the evils of premarital sex and cohabitation, and denouncing what he called the “powerful’’ gay marriage lobby in America.

That's what needs to be said ... to Timothy Dolan, to the Pope, to ANY person who assumes an unearned "authority" because of their embrace of a belief which has no substance behind it. They need to be told, point-blank, "I do not recognize your authority, I will not listen to you. Your antediluvian stance works against the well being of the human animal and you deserve all the denigration and mockery you attract."
It occurs to me that any dictum ex cathedra which the RC church indulges in needs to be treated in much the same way some political campaigns respond to negative ads aimed at them: COUNTER-PUNCH and do so HARD. Call them on their BS and don't hesitate. NEVER give them the chance at an unchallenged statement.
Remember ... theirs are the words of a bunch of "hysterical, sinster virgins." Treat them as such.

Permalink Reply by Sentient Biped on March 14, 2012 at 10:38am Bleccch! Last time I looked, the constitution did not state that the Pope and his minions had any authority in the US. The current Catholic onslaught against American freedom and principles of human choice is nothing less than an attempted power grab. While conservatives like to use the word "tyranny" to describe liberals, any look at catholic history will demonstrate the meaning of the word "tyranny". The pope has no moral authority when all he cares about are what people do when naked together, but not how to feed the poor, shelter the homeless, and promote dignity and opportunity and equality for the world's helpless.

Permalink Reply by Sentient Biped on March 14, 2012 at 11:12am If Santorum wins the white house, we are in for degradation of the American way that will make Bush look liberal in comparison. He uses the word "Tyranny" to smear liberal principles, but there is no greater tyranny than imposition of religion, catholic or muslim, on the populace.
