Here in the UK yours truly recently had a word ("Muzzies") censored on a discussion list. It was used in much the same way as one might use "fundies" or "God botherers". I was even accused of using a word askin to "Paki" or "nigger", but I doubt that anyone would agree with that. Anyway, the upshot is that we at Gay & Lesbian Humanist Magazine have now launched a Yahoo! Groups discussion list called Gaytheist. It's open to anyone to join. Just go to the Pink Triangle blog and look in the sidebar. Easy-peasy.

Oh, it doesn't censor. Thought I'd mention that!

Oh, and you don't have to be gay. It's there for gay-friendly straights, too (one's joined already, although, since it was set up only yesterday, there are only a handful of signees so far. The more the merrier. See you there, perhaps.

Ah, what a nice surprise to see this page! As it turns out, I already joined Gaytheist on Yahoo, joined it earlier tonight before I found the gay atheist group on Atheist Nexus and therefore joined Atheist Nexus tonight too, and when I joined the Yahoo Group I didn't know about UK gay magazine being connected with it. But now with what you say here I finally have some background on that Yahoo Group that I didn't have before, didn't know yet if it was a junk email Yahoo Group or what. I've been in other Yahoo Groups that seemingly existed only for junk emails so I left those other groups. I did an Internet search for gay atheists, and both came up and I checked the links one by one and that's how I got to Yahoo Groups and then to Atheist Nexus.
Gaytheist won't send you junk, Eric. Not while I'm moderating it. It's a small group at the moment, but the latest issue of the magazine has a page devoted to it, so I'm hoping that will get a few people joining up for atheist/agnostic/freethinking/gay chat. I've found it handy so far for passing on info about this or that article in this or that publication. Atheist Nexus, too, is excellent and has a lot of stuff happening. I haven't visited much recently because of pressures here and there, but it's worth promoting where you can.
