The next meetup is Sunday, March 22, at 7:30pm. We'll be at the same place, probably the same tables. Everybody come on out.

We're still on for this Sunday. I was starting to worry that 2Brothers might close down the store where we have been meeting since they have a new location now. They let me know that the original store is their flagship and it isn't going anywhere. (geek note: there will be an iridium flare on Sunday night. Anyone who wants to see it will have to go out to the patio at around 8:00.)

Cool. I'll be there.

Actually, I'm probably not going to make it. I've had a lot of work this weekend, and I'm not where I want to be with it yet. Sorry.

Hi All, Sorry, but it looks like I won't be able to make it tonight either. I sent Mark an email on the specifics and really apologize for the late notice.

Since we hit double digits at the meeting with our total of 10, we may need to start looking for a new meeting place. (Especially since someone let the cat out of the bag that we are a bunch of heathens to the management.) See ya'll next month.

Oh sure! I don't attend a meetup and all of the other Frisco atheists come out! Seriously, I'm glad the turn out was so good. The discussions must have been lively also since you closed the joint down!

We now have a Google Calendar. When you are in the calendar tool, there is a search box beneath the "My Calendars" box. Type "friscoatheists" in the search box and see if you can see the calendar. There is 1 event on April 16th. I think that the world can see the calendar. Please let me know whether or not you're able to find it.

I got it. Thanks Mark! In case anyone has trouble, you can also view the calendar in the browser here:

Or add it to something besides google calendar with this address:

Hi all, I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of 2 new nonbelief billboards that were put up last week by the DFW Coalition of Reason (dfwcor.org). Cool stuff. Here's a link to the Dallas Morning News story.

Death of a family member

Posted by Larry Taylor on May 20, 2013 at 6:15pm 1 Comment

OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone. She even refused to speak with my brother who is a methodist minister. He is a pip, let me tell you! I suspect she did not believe, but a woman born in her time could not and did not state her actual beliefs. This is the opening salvo to all christians; FUCK YOU! I had so many people come and tell…

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!

This probably should not have shocked me as much as it did (especially since I am in Texas). I actually thought my coworkers were playing a joke on me because they know I am an atheist. Sadly, this was no joke. This actually happened.

I work in a psychiatric hospital. The doctors who admit patients are general MDs. (Psychiatrists see patients after admission) Yesterday evening we received several calls from irate parents. A new doctor who was doing admissions yesterday actually…

anti-atheist rant from an Orthodox Mormon part 2

What do you think of this,

Nathan Young,

No Jason Torpy it is you that should be banned for promoting atheism, a belief that has no foundation in reality and zero proof behind it.  The letter was a mockery of your atheist beliefs.  I request to the board here that they remove Jason for his unverifiable beliefs in atheism for which he has no proof other than his arrogance.  The letter was a mockery of atheism.  Atheism is stupid and it should be mocked and it…

Anti-atheist post from an Orthdox Mormon

What do you think of this Facebook comment?

Nathan Young to Jason Torpy,

for once you and I can agree on something.  We should disrespect beliefs that are untenable such as the belief that there is no God.  Indeed for me to respect you Jason, I cannot respect your belief in non-belief in atheism.  Your atheism comes across as arrogrance, smugness, and self righteous.  Indeed after reading "An Open Letter to My Religious Friends" I penned one…
