Anyone in Baghdad want to met up for a Green Bean? On me of course.

Due to OPSEC I can't say when I will be there or where I will be coming from but if you can leave me a SIPR number where I can reach you I'd love to have a sit down with other Foxhole Atheists.

Hi everybody,
I'm Dean. I'm a lieutenant in the IDF and currently I'm in the Israeli flight academy. I'm not an air-crew man on my own, I have a math degree and I teach math to the flight cadets who are completing an academic degree during their 3-year long course.
Atheism is the IDF is an accepted status. Many are. Israel is a religion-based nation, and for that matter, because there is no separation of church and state, religion is a lot less popular because there are no free-from denomination that can appeal to anyone (but more on that later). I believe more than half the population believe in a god, but only about 10-20 percent are religious.
So, although we have some religious laws regarding how the food is being cooked and what you should or shouldn't do on a sabbath, the IDF is a very secular military, and although the ideal military would be godless, I'm fine with its current status. It is a lot more tolerant than what I'm hearing about the US military.

it would be "our" little secret.......
and if anyone should ask....
we'd simply tell them...
"We are the...."A" team...."
And what's the worst thing they could do?
Block our photos....
LOL.....
Just a thought.....

Rick, that is a great idea, and it is funny that you mention the Scarlet Letter. I've thought about putting the "A" on my vehicle - but everyone will just look at and think it is the Scarlet Letter, and the jokes would be nonstop.

I am sure it would be just as easy to Photoshop in a red A to existing pictures too.

Hey Loki I heard that too.
Hummmm what should one do.....what is one to do......
I've got a cunning plan....
Of course, thousands of innocents might die in the process.....
mankind's direction might be changed for ever.....
Grown men might cry......
but it's a thought....
WHAT IF....
THOSE OF US WHO SERVED....WHO ARE ATHEISTS
Took pictures of ourselves wearing the red letter A for atheist
where it can be clearly seen...
and all sign up if not already members.....
so we all be identified as ...ATHEISTS VETS
we'll all know.....
they might know....
but what can or could they do?
Think of us as....ADULTERERS?
I mean we'd all be wearing the SCARLET LETTER...hee hee hee...

Yo, we got a VBC trip coming up here soon, any Baghdad Atheists wanna get together for some Greenbean?

I read today on the MAAF website that "Together We Served" refuses to recognize MAAF. Does anyone know if anything is being done to change this?

Hey ya'll, just joined Atheist Nexis.

I am a Combat Medic currently deployed to Iraq. I've been a member of MAAF for about 1 1/2 years now.

Other than that... Slayer Rules!!

Hi there. I'm a Warrant Officer in the US Army currently serving my second year-long tour in Afghanistan. I don't see too many Christians trying to push their faith on me - I guess I'm just lucky like that. I've got 8 more months to go and then I'll be home again. I'll probably retire in about three years.
