I hear ya. 8 Years USMC here, I am certain a number of my fellow Marines were atheists, but none would admit it but me!

I've ran into maybe one other person in the Marine Corps who was an atheist. Glad to find this group. crucifacts.wordpress.com My blog if anyone is interested.

With religion seemingly so embedded in the heart of the military, it is really nice to find a place to fit in. Glad to be here.

Iraq: Congress voted for serious consequences should the country violate the latest (at the time) UN resolution. Then, down party lines, the democrats turned against their own country and military which was sent in harms way. Having served in Iraq to make ourselves as well as the Iraqi's better off, I still bear significant personal anger and resentment over the immoral and treasonous false accounts many congressional leaders delivered regarding their supposed lack of intelligence briefs.

Is it still feasible that someday we can bring these individuals to testify before a future congress along with the counter-claims of present military and intelligence officials who gave the briefs?

I don't think I will ever rest in peace until this is done; this crap definitely undermined the psychological aspect of our efforts. Justice must prevail on this!

I mean is it just me or does anyone else feel sick to their stomach about this whole bit? It's like the Elephant in the room, no? We became weak in the knees from not taking those people to task at the very get go. Then our paper-tiger-ness just continued from there.

The Invocation begins at about 5:57...notice the lame disclamer at the beginning.

A quick question for any active duty Navy people.

Back when I was in (let's just call it several years ago), when a ship was at sea, just before taps, a prayer was given over the 1MC.  Is that still the case today?  If so, what do you think about it?

I had no idea something like this existed for military members. How refreshing!

Have to photograph the nativity on in one of the front windows of the Bradley Vehicle Maintenance Instruction Facility at Harmony Churchon Fort Benning today. I was in disbelief that those instructors didn't know better. Santa is dumb enough but not very religious. I suppose I could sneak by and swap the baby for some uncooked spaghetti noodles.

The Rednecks are coming, the Rednecks are coming

Actually, the rednecks are here and everywhere. Let me say, I'm not a big fan of these people. That's putting it mildly. Need I describe them? You know who I mean. This seems to be the time of year when they come out of the woodwork. Here in Indiana, as the weather gets nice, the motorcyclists are out in full force. I hate the noise cycles make. Then there's the Indianapolis 500 fans, the majority of which are rednecks. Interview them or a typical Pacer fan (big news as they face the Miami…See More

"Happy Holidays is a good enough saying for anyone at Christmas time. I support the phrase "happy holidays" rather than the bullshit most Americans were taught. Let's go back in time to look at meanings here. "Holidays"…"
