M*A*S*H Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

If you are in the Ft Wood area or have orders here--if you know anyone who is stationed here or has orders here,  we welcome you to join us or pass on our welcome message.   We are a fledgling organization.  You may not be aware that Ft Wood is the home of the infamous "Free Day Away".   This is reason enough to support an atheist presence in this area.   MAAF is one or our sponsors!

Big edition of Atheists in Foxholes News. Lots of updates with 9/11, DADT, Christopher Hitchens, and Dustin Chalkers petition half way to the 5000 signatures it needs to go to the President.

Must have changed a bit. No in the Air Force I have meet two atheists in my work section alone (and a guy in the Navy). I am out (as an atheist, lol) at work and that tends to draw some of the other atheists to me, if not 'out'. I have not caught any flack for it in my unit although I have not deployed (people my AFSC tend to to deploy one or two at a time).

Yeah I did 8 years in the AF and did not meet much atheists either.  But yeah those "Christians" did know how to do it up out on the town (with the exception of the Sabath lol).  Working in the civilian sector with the military definitely has a lot more atheists than when I was on active duty

I just posted a couple political cartoons on A/N that are military and atheist related.  Still getting used to using a social network site, so pardon my clumsiness.  I don't know how to link them, here.  They're under a discussion I started, called Atheist Cartoons from Bill Mutt.  Only, my apologies to all, one is actually from Clyde Peterson.  Thanks to Bill Mutt for letting me know it wasn't his, so I could give credit where due.  Anyway, you'll guffaw and laugh when you see them.

We think what you're doing is great.  Religion should have no part in the military.  If all of our soldiers are there fighting for the same cause, why can't they all be in the same group and stick together instead of segregating into groups like Protestants, Christians, Jews, etc?
