Pat, the shape of the "Unicorn Shit" cookies looks more like rainbow dog-doo to me. 

As a long-time fantasy fan, I know that unicorns are either equines or some blend of equine and goat, and their droppings (if they leave any at all) would look more like Rock Cakes.  (Actually, I don't think I've ever seen a goat turd....they may resemble the "black beans" that deer leave on our lawn sometimes.  Deer, goats, and unicorns ....and some horses...love flowers....)

Back to potato salad....again.  I was SO hungry for some after all the comments;  Found A NEW (TO ME) style called Loaded Potato Salad.... Here's one recipe:

  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled

  • 8 slices bacon

  • 8 oz container sour cream

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

  • dried chives  (fresh would be better...or scallions )

  • salt & pepper to taste

    Directions

  1.  Bring potatoes to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until just tender, about 15 minutes. Drain the potatoes, and allow to cool to room temperature. Dice once cooled.
  2. (I cook bacon in the oven...less mess) Drain the bacon slices on a paper towel-lined plate. Allow to cool, and crumble the bacon into a large bowl.
  3. Place the cooled potatoes into the bowl with the bacon, and mix in everything else.  Refrigerate overnight before serving.

    I also added some chopped black olives, and 3 chopped HB eggs...and sprinkled paprika over it all. 
Anyroad....Great with fried chicken.

Off to the local Mexican grocery store. Dried ancho and passillo chiles. I'm hoping they have some dried espazote, since I want to try a Oaxacan recipe for salsa over eggs.

This morning's smoothie was a winner. Cannelloni beans, frozen watermelon, frozen mango, almonds, flax seeds, pomegranate juice, coconut milk, dash of orange juice.

Randall, I don't even have a dishwasher; unless you count me, a sink, and a washing pad. Since it's mostly just me, I have very few dishes during the week, and I just can't see the justification for one.

The quiche sounds good. Had a very ripe local freestone peach for breakfast today, along with an egg and some whole grain bread. Reminded of me of the album by the Allman Brothers.

I have no idea why I have a dishwasher. I NEVER use it! Same with a garbage disposal (I compost). I got caught up in the propaganda that says a house sells better if it has these applicances. However, I never plan to sell, so why should I care?

Eating off a delicious brocolli quiche I made two evenings ago. Good for breakfast, too.
