What a coincidence, Patricia. I also picked 3 gigantic heads of brocolli yest. Blanched and froze two of them and will eat off the third. They were slightly "wormy" already. Broc is a super food, you know.

Yes Carl, less than an hour old.

Broccoli from your garden, Patricia? Nice!

Our first 3 heads of broccoli. For some reason the bowl of water ruins the beautiful dark green color. Oh well......

Pat, we have no peach crop this year up here (Laf, IN area). I don't know how Michigan's peach fared. Blackberries next week maybe.

Randy, I'm always ready to change my opinion.  Especially when my mouth and nose likes something.

Thanks Daniel. I have dismissed Black & Decker, Hamilton Beach,  & many other unknown brands. My max budget is $150 Canadian, with tax & shipping. I've kind of narrowed down to Kitchen Aid & Cuisinart, between amazon.ca & ebay, & something from 8-12 cup  in size. There are some brands just way out of my league....Breville, De Longi, etc.

Just put up 6 quarts of blueberries yesterday. I say 6 quarts, but I probably ate 1/2 quart of them before I got them home.  They're in season down here, along with blackberries. Peaches are coming in, and will be in full production in about a month.

My one and only visit to Knott's Berry Farm was in 1966!! I can't imagine the changes.

Pat, the soup sounds delicious!

Spud, my local (10' down the road) blueberry farm opens this week. Wish you could try them berries--I bet you would change your opinion!! I avoid the bigger, mushier ones, to get the smaller, tangier ones.

Patricia, I've always liked Kitchen Aid as an appliance manufacturer. Everything I have gotten from them has been reliable, and seems to last a long time. Don't know what will be over budget, but I saw a good sized one on Amazon for about $150.00
