I've heard many so called atheists refer to the "soul" as if it actually existed.  My question is:  If you believe humans have a soul are you really an atheist? Continue

Dear FFRF,

Thank you so very much for the Out of the Closet Boards!            Not only have they made my day "reading" them, it helped created one more freethinker among my friends!                       No, not Out of the Closet, but a new freethinker is here among us! You never know who or how many you touch in cyber world.

You probably wouldn't want to see the movie / documentary called "Jesus Camp".  It's really bad.

Interesting point, on the Salt Lake Daily Issue:

Defending Darwinian evolution - or - Why you never heard one damn word about evolution in school.

I have read every English translation of the Bible from front to back. Even studied some of the original Hebrew and Greek. It has all make me a stronger and more certain than ever Atheist. I have  always been interested in what people believe and why. I give respect when respect is given to me, however have found most people that believe in a god or gods carry with them a lot of hate and as well.

Well, Jaco, it's always good to know exactly what you don't believe in. Reading the bible is a tough slog, but education is never a bad thing, even education in mythology and ancient cultures and philosophy. You don't have to believe in their theology any more than you have to believe in Greek and Roman mythology, even though most of us have studied those in school. Mythology is mythology, and can be very interesting from a historical perspective, but we have grown since then. I don't live in a tent, and herd goats and sheep, either!

Hi, from a new member.  Lol, I have bought the holy bible (King James Version) yesterday.... never in my wildest dreams thought that will ever happen.  I'm getting tired of christians telling me that I don't know the 'word' of god.  I'm going to rub their noses in it chapter and verse....  ;)

Hi there! I am new to Atheistnexus, and I am not online much.

I am also on FB, Ravelry, and I have a wordpress-blog.
I do not consider myself a "weak" Atheist simply because I am NOT 100% Sure that God-Gods-Goddess Exist or not. I simply say I don't know, but I live my life according to the "natural laws" of this planet, NOT the bible written thousands of years ago when people "knew" the earth was flat.
