Comment by sk8eycat on May 13, 2012 at 9:29pm The arrogance of xians...that was something I didn't notice till I started looking at it from the outside. Plane crash survivor: "Gawd was looking after me (but not the other passengers; they all died).
Or, when a woman's granddaughter was murdered, "Gawd is testing my faith (because I'm important)." Why would an all-knowing super-being need to test anything? She/he/it would already know what's going to happen.
I'm still embarrassed that I used to believe all that crap. Reading the buybull from cover to cover (twice!) was the last straw for me.

Comment by David W on May 13, 2012 at 6:15pm Sad story. Just another example of how prayer obviously works and how god clearly favors her. No mention of science or technology or skilled physicians that helped god out.
Comment by sk8eycat on May 13, 2012 at 12:47pm Heh! They might try Shakespeare, or other literary sources. That would be fun. Or maybe some quotes from entertainment celebs....such as George Carlin: "God LOVES you! And He needs MONEY!"
I'm fond of Robert A. Heinlein: Make up your own mind. Before you do that, think it through. Before thinking about it, get the facts.
Comment by Sarah Walton on May 13, 2012 at 9:28am So people are making up plaques to cover over the verses with quotes from other religious texts, right? Right?
Comment by sk8eycat on May 12, 2012 at 11:09pm Maybe they're afraid the boogey-man will get them if they remove the magic spells.
I think that's the way they feel about putting IGWT on our money, and adding the "undergod" to the Pledge of Allegiance spell.

Comment by David W on May 12, 2012 at 9:02pm Looks like the town of Sylvania is NOT removing what they said they would remove.
