Arizona Birth Control Bill - Women Can't Use The Pill for Contraception, Only "Medical Problems" (HuffPo)

The latest outrage - Arizona wants to prohibit insurance coverage of birth control pills for anything other than "medical problems" such as ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and dysmenorrhea.  In other words, they want to force off-label use of a drug because the drug's intended effect is "immoral".  Apparently the only lesson Arizona Republicans learned from the whole Sandra Fluke fiasco is that pills can be used for things that don't have anything to do with that icky, sinful, sex thing.  They also seem to believe that the pill is an abortifacient, revealing once again that politicians have no understanding of how the pill actually works.  I guess all that "wimmin stuff" is just a big, icky mystery to them that they can't be bothered to actually learn about before puking out some knee-jerk legislation against it.  Smell the flyblown pile of bullshit here:

Someone should point out to them that pregnancy is a medical condition.

Bingo. They're not thinking that far ahead, though.  They're thinking of the pill as an enabler for wanton sex.
