Just a few great Douglas Adams links

In the beginning the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

There is a theory which states that if anybody ever discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Okay, on with some links. First, his page: http://www.douglasadams.com/

Artificial god speech to Biota: http://www.biota.org/people/douglasadams/

His "Community" Page that the BBC now owns: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2

Hyperland: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7190175107515525470

Let me know if there are any particularly appropriate links that I should post. And of course, feel free to discuss his works of fiction as well!

Thanks for the clarification. Glad I asked.

Re the email I just got from this group about the book "The Prostitute in The Family Tree" by "Douglas Adams"... It's not the same Douglas Adams. Just so ya know. :)

Oh, Stephen Fry is very cool as well! Good call BBC (and this is based off the book, right?).

I believe the BBC series features Stephen Fry with Mark Carradine. Haven't seen it myself, but there's a great little clip from it on the Atheist Humour board (embedded in the thread about Hitchens).

Sylvain, yes, that is a wonderful book! Didn't the BBC produce some shows based on that book? Us poor Yanks aren't allowed to see the BBC, it may cure us of Glenn Beckitis. ;)

Rereading the Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide for the umpteenth time. :) I enjoy that there's always a part I'd forgotten I love.

Bloody hell! I missed Towel Day! You may all flog me in the public square for such heresy. I suppose my reunion with my family after being deployed had a stronger grip on my reality than Towel Day. I hope you never lost yours!

I just wanted to say thank you all for joining this fangroup! I never expected it to grow as big as it has.

Hi Everyone, I love the Hitchhiker's Guide and Dirk Gently. I saw the BBC have released their second Dirk Gently radio dramatization (The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul), which is available from Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dirk-Gently-Long-Teatime-Audio/dp/140568755X/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I36VP6HBSB3KY4&colid=5745LFKA219K). If it's as good as the book, don't listen while driving - bursting out in uncontrollable laughter does make for safe driving!!!
