Just a few great Douglas Adams links

In the beginning the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

There is a theory which states that if anybody ever discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Okay, on with some links. First, his page: http://www.douglasadams.com/

Artificial god speech to Biota: http://www.biota.org/people/douglasadams/

His "Community" Page that the BBC now owns: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2

Hyperland: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7190175107515525470

Let me know if there are any particularly appropriate links that I should post. And of course, feel free to discuss his works of fiction as well!

Lalla Ward is possibly the basis for Trillian !

I now have the full MP3 files of the first and second radio productions of HHGG.

I love that story too! Baker was always my favorite Doctor (I think it was the Jelly Babies).

If not a Douglas Adams "Connection", maybe one can make a James Burke type show out of it?

Just thought I'd add some Douglas Adams trivia.

Lalla Ward is an English actress who famously played Time Lady Romana in the television series Dr Who.

After leaving the show, Ward married her co-star, Tom Baker, (who played the Dr Who with the long scarf) but, at the same time, she was best friends with Douglas Adams, with whom she also worked on the series. She later said her friendship with Adams was more important than her marriage to Baker.

After splitting with Baker (after a short marriage), Lalla Ward attended Adams' 40th birthday party where he introduced her to his friend Richard Dawkins.

Lalla Ward and Richard Dawkins married the same year and remain together.

I just love the interconnections in this story - it's very Douglas Adams-ish.

Since I am a fan of Carl Sagan, I just had to start this group too! I mean, who ISN'T a fan of Douglass Adams?
