Ex-Mormon Atheists

There seem to be a few of us ex-mo's in the Nexus and it is good to share the particular intricacies of extracting oneself from Mormonism.

If no growth from 1990 to 2008 with proportion to the population of the country counts as "fastest growing" to you, then sure.

So apparently Mormonism is one of the fastest-growing faiths in America. It actually expanded significantly last year. It surprised me, because so many were losing faith in the church because of the actions around Proposition 8. And the fact that Mormonism is crazy. ...No offense.

I'm still on the lists; they still call me; occasionally I still go. I avoid throwing tantrums about so-called gender roles, gay rights, and the likelihood of anyone surviving in the belly of a whale. But one of these days, I'm gonna snap. It wont be pretty.

Great group! I find most ex-Mormons are religious. Only reason I was Mormon (or anything) is because I was raised into it.

I just finished that book a couple of weeks ago. It really was great! I wasn't sure what part of mormonism it was actually about, so I came away pretty pleased.

Hello fellow celestial underachievers!
My name is Josh. I'm an exmormon among other things. Just curious, has anyone else read a book by Jack Krakouer called "under the banner of heaven"? Great read. Highly recommend it.
