There seem to be a few of us ex-mo's in the Nexus and it is good to share the particular intricacies of extracting oneself from Mormonism.

Comment by Eric Smith on November 15, 2011 at 5:44pm @Kevin D This site has a good template and instructions for how to handle the process. http://packham.n4m.org/leaving.htm Church leaders are required to handle the process confidentially, so I would stress the part about considering legal regress if they do not (do not promise more than you can deliver; threatening legal action is unnecessary at this point, but it is a good idea to make sure they know it is a possibility). Hope it goes well for you.
Comment by Shane Smith on November 15, 2011 at 9:49am 3rd episode of Skeptics in Mormonville is up. We had a guest-host who was in a break off group of the FLDS! Strange enough he was allowed to drink coffee and booze. WTF?
Check it out here: Skeptics in Mormonville
Comment by Kevin Dunkley on November 14, 2011 at 5:06pm Hello Apostates, recently converted to reason, but I'm still technically a member. I want to get more involved in supporting atheism, but I still have a lot of ties to the church. Question is should I wait to get ex'd, or just have my name removed? I'm leaning towards name removal. Don't want to go through the court and waste any more time. Any suggestions? BTW like my Profile pic. I got the Jesus Jammies on.

Comment by Brian on November 6, 2011 at 6:55pm I listened to your podcast and I think it has potential. However, there are several skeptical/atheist groups around the Salt Lake valley.
