Yes, I know that Belgium is very secular. That's why there aren't many self-declared atheists. There is even the world first luxury "Church Hotel" which is transformed from a bankrupt church. Martin's Patershof : http://goo.gl/8q8p

You will not be bothered much by religious nutters in Belgium. Wallonia is staunchly socialist, and Flanders conservative but secular. Every so often, a cardinal feels he should be heard, but no one listens anyway. We have grown weary of the church. In the end, all it does is live off our tax money.
I am hoping to move to Berlin in the near future, where I have applied for a job. That does not strike me as a particularly religious city either. Thank Nietzsche.

Okinawan, Japanese or European, you are what you feel you are. If you consider yourself European, I also consider you so. Europe is pretty open minded now but it was under a religious dictatorship not so long time ago. The educated people were more detached from religion like in our modern times but didn't dare to say much for fear of losing socially or even their lives.

Hi, I am a Japanese(Okinawan), but now live in Belgium. So I consider myself as a European. This is the reason why I have joined this group. I would like to learn more about the freedom of thoughts in Europe.

Hello, I'm an American, but I'm living in Cyprus. I rarely find other non-theists here in Cyprus, so it's a bit lonely here in that regard! Also, there is the occasional disagreement with my Greek Orthodox in-laws over how to raise our child, and I've been looking for a support community to help me out.

Aren't most of your greedies located in or near the City? You could always petition your government so they enclose the area within a 10+ feet high concrete wall and turn the place into a concentration camp. Or, better, a zoo.

Hello, I am from Austria. From Vienna.
Austria was the home of some of the most important naturalists:

Othenio Abel the founder of palaeobiology

Konrad Lorenz the founder of Ethology

Irenaeus Eibl Eibesfeldt the founder of Humane-Ethology
