All it takes is knowing how to do it and then wait for results. At one time I had many different colors of tulips and over time, the dominant gene changed them into an incredible blanket of red blossoms that return year after year. Occasionally I introduce another color, and over time, it receives pollen from other red blossoms, makes new combinations, and revert to their mother color of red. I have to change species if I want to prevent cross-pollination of tulips.
