99% Spring Training for non-violent direct action protests will be from April 9 - April 15. Along with the economy, climate change, animal rights, safe food, and safe water are concerns of people who will be attending the training. Classes will be held throughout the U.S. Click here to see if there is a training near you and RSVP. The first link takes you to the original discussion. I cross posted because I think environmentalists will be interested in the training.

You can thank George W. Bush for dropping "To understand and protect the home planet." from NASA's Mission Statement. The new mission statement was revised without consulting the agency... No discussion or public announcement of any kind was made.

I was just looking at NASA website a few minutes ago... helping earth is really only the sur-catch. A change of mission statement would be needed, to place earth study as a priority.

Here's James Hansen at a 17 minute TED talk.

The first line of NASA's mission statement used to be "To understand and protect the home planet." That line was deleted after Mr. Hansen began giving speeches about climate change.

That Global urbanization video looked like a spreading plague.

I'm not sure what you mean TN666. Please post the answer when you find it.

This one on Global urbanization from 5600 BP to 0 BP is good too.

Notice also the massive regreening of New England around 340 BP, major tribal decline there too.

You know what I also noticed that was new to me? The pre-colonial distribution of N.American tribes. I come from a mixed Acadian heritage, and we usually read that the Migmah's and their ancestors had been around for 10,000 years, but I hadn't realised how much later it was for pre-USA tribes. The map shoes pre-Canada human impact on the Pacific and the 'Canadian Shield' from 7000 BP. Followed by the pre-Canadian Prairies. And the pre-USA only shows impact from 3000 BP? That's a 4000 year difference between tribal development Within North America. I thought that the ocean coasts of pre-USA had developed at the same rate as farther north. I'm going to have to ask this designer about this data, it's intriguing.
