Smaller people, like smaller dogs, tend to live longer.

Shorter men live longer.   And caloric restriction - being well nourished but not weighing much for your height - is connected with longevity across many animal species. 

So celebrate your genes!

3 months later. Yes, I'm a 120 lb "weakling". Believe me, I've tried for 55 years to add weight and, especially, muscle. I've lifted weights (like 300 curls/day), enriched my diet, you name it. Alas, I weigh and look the same as I did at 16 years of age. I've finally given up. My genes are in control. 

I'll still lift weights on a reduced, modified scale, just for tone and bone strength. But reality has hit me. As long as I stay in good shape, I'm fine with that. I'll never be Atlas.

Stepped on the scales yesterday and discoverd I had lost 8 lbs. this summer! Whoa. I know it shows in the mid-section. I haven't lost any stamina or energy, so that's good.

How about you?

Actually a lot of people from Europe - countries where there are fewer fat people - comment on how many fat people there are in the USA. 

Some states are worse than others, for some reason.

I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone. I realize I can be outspoken and intolerant at times. I'm just telling it like it is (69% of us being overweight, according to Ruth's info). And since I've never had a weight problem, it's hard for me to empathize.

(After estimating your size / body type, it asks for your height and weight, using sliders. You can tell it's a British site: weight shows up in stones and pounds in addition to kilograms. For us Yanks: a stone is 14 pounds. Or it might be easier to multiply pounds by 2.2 to get kilograms.)

well I feel like I'm overeating a lot of the time.  But I have been riding my bike around a lot.  If I gain a little weight, it soon goes away.

I'm obese, Randall. It is upsetting to not be able to control one's weight. I've been on a strict low carb diet (for diabetes) for a decade and a half and lost no weight. I do use the gym, too.
