I'd heard that people who regularly snacked on nuts were generally not overweight, but that didn't make sense to me. After all nuts have lots of lipids and are nutritionally dense.
Today I learned why.
"Oleic acid, which is found in unsaturated fats, helps quell hunger," Whitt said. "It may sound counterintuitive, but this is healthy fat, so snack on a couple tablespoons of peanut butter or an ounce of nuts." [emphasis mine]
Permalink Reply by Lillie on March 11, 2013 at 3:55pm The article mentioned eating grapefruit. People need to know that grapefruit can interfere with the effectiveness of certain medications. My son did not know this and was rendering one of his medications useless and a waste of money.

The idea that keeping tabs of defeated cravings, that if you do it 15 times consecutively you'll conquer that craving, is especially interesting. Their faux fries sound tasty, but too salty for me.
