I'd heard that people who regularly snacked on nuts were generally not overweight, but that didn't make sense to me. After all nuts have lots of lipids and are nutritionally dense.

Today I learned why.

"Oleic acid, which is found in unsaturated fats, helps quell hunger," Whitt said. "It may sound counterintuitive, but this is healthy fat, so snack on a couple tablespoons of peanut butter or an ounce of nuts." [emphasis mine]

The article mentioned eating grapefruit.  People need to know that grapefruit can interfere with the effectiveness of certain medications.  My son did not know this and was rendering one of his medications useless and a waste of money.

True. Grapefruit and statins don't go well together. Crazy, eh?

I eat nuts all the time. I love almonds.

I enjoyed watching that video that summarized all the nuts and weight studies! Fantastic.

Must be true. I eat lots of almonds and walnuts (and peanuts, although they aren't nuts), and am pretty slim. Saltless, of course.

How the pros curb food cravings gives some creative tips. The idea that keeping tabs of defeated cravings, that if you do it 15 times consecutively you'll conquer that craving, is especially interesting. Their faux fries sound tasty, but too salty for me.
