Heavy Metal

Heavy Metal appears to be one of the only forms of music where people can truly speak their mind about anything everything. It ranges from Medieval Conquests, Gory Death, Society and Religion. Other Musical Genres seem gutless to attack Religion but Heavy Metal faces religion head on.

In this group there is a free range of anything to do with Atheism or Heavy Metal Music. Attack Religion or praise your favorite Metal "Gods"!

Heavy metal, eh? I'm really into Wolf (Swe) lately. Cheesy lyrics, but they're a really awesome band. I would rec them and Battleroar to everyone here.

I've been looking for a metal group, but this has eluded me. Short on members, but I'm glad this is here!

Just post them in the discussion form, and upload an MP3 sample if you can.

No prob, maybe there should be a thread of people's recommendations - I've got quite a long list of good non-mainstream metal. I'd write one up now, but I'm off in a moment.

Seppuku, I'll have to check these guys out. I recognize some of the names. Thanks for posting.

Dimmu Borgir, hell yeah! Anaal Nathrakh too and Ted Maul. Less Heavy stuff like Iced Earth, Nightwish and Saxon. More Folky like Eluveitie, Haggard and Korpiklaani. Bring on the devil and pagan music. ;)

Yeah, I love Black Label Society ("Counterfeit God"), Slayer, etc. I think Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails are more.....I dunno...they bridge the gap between metal and industrial......y'know.....at a certain point, it's just a label, really. I like what I like, musically.

There ARE even atheist and/or "devil" sounding rap and country artists, though. (I know because, originally, I specifically sought that out when wanting to find artists from those genres to listen to.) Like Hank 3's "Straight to Hell (Satan is Real)" and Natas "Doubelievengod". I like all types of music, though, even if they are Christian. I just ignore any of their songs that blab on too much about "God".

Bryan, for my part I can't answer that. It depends on my mood. Sometimes I'll listen to Korn, sometimes to the Carpenters. Both have value in my opinion, so it is hard to pinpoint a favorite. If you asked what I've been listening to the most lately: Nurse With Wound, Eva O, and Throbbing Gristle (though none of those are Heavy Metal).
