Welcome to Dark Atheists

I started this group because I was looking for a similar one and it does'nt exist here on A/N. If your sick of feeling left out for being dark and moody or hardcore and brash-then guess what your my new friend. I want this group to be one big place to vent about how annoying society is. Basically anything that expresses yourself like, darkness, things that are creepy, fav rock bands, poetry, vampires, movies, TV shows-whatevs. Just share-its interesting. Welcome :)

What are your dark fantasies?

This morning I reacted to a zombie picture with a fantasy. I've often felt that identifying with monster characters, like Annie in Being Human, is a way to express a part of ourselves that didn't fit…Continue

And Crowley definitely had a sense of humor that few of his followers got. Put a lot of paradoxes and philosophical booby traps in his writing.

"The Book of Lies" is the equal of anything by Lewis Carroll.

Having once been an atheistic satanist and the fact that I own Anton's Satanic bible and hve read it cover to cover I can argue that it is not oxymoronic at all. It clearly states that "Satan" stands for "Mankind" impure, imperfect animal. It states that as a satanist you worship only yourself and you embrace you natural sexual urges and impure tendencies as a human. You worship yoursef as a god or goddess of darkness, fear nothing and no deity higher than yoursef exists. you have to be very narcissistic and have a hate for religion because it was founded as a mockery of the church.

@Samantha: Crowley, years before, said, "There is no god but Man."

I heard it from Jethro Tull, sort of, but that's kind of my point. Backward masking and SRA are made-up conspiracies of fundamentalist paranoia, but art, even pop culture, sometimes sows the seeds of doubt. Or maybe fertilizes them. I had doubts, then I sought voices similar to mine that voiced them.

Yeah, known Crowley fan Jimmy Paige.  Supposedly, if you run "Stairway to Heaven" backward you get "My sweet Satan."

yeah well thats just it man created "god" due to the fact that man is ignorant and fears the unknown. I fear nothing but the human mind and its ability to create such nonsense that can cause mass hysteria around the entire fucking planet. Ave Satanas! :)

LaVey did most of his act tongue in cheek.  He was a charlatan, but so was Crowley.  They were brilliant at being charlatans.  Nothing wrong with that.  I suspect the membership had widely-disparate reasons for either believing in Satan or in the Promethean symbol he became, especially as the Light Bringer (!).

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
