Whether it's a new baby, adoption, triumph over adversity, a medical diagnosis, a success, or a loss. Celebrate, or grieve, the loss of a loved one, respected mentor, role model. If it moves you, or you think it will move others, this is a good place to share the experience.

I think this is the photo you are looking for.
There are several couples I've talked to in the past week, who feel like a big weight is taken off them. It is a big step here in WA, and I assume in Maryland and Maine, as it was in NY. One state at a time, I guess. Thanks for the good words and sincere support. It matters.
Comment by Joan Denoo on December 20, 2012 at 2:27pm Happy Husbands! Sentient, would you want to put this topic on AN? This is such a momentous event, I really want to celebrate this step toward equity.
Comment by Joan Denoo on December 20, 2012 at 2:18pm Thanks you for the information on Ajita Kamal. I do hope his cause of death is identified ... was it a hate crime? Perhaps Amer can help.
Comment by Joan Denoo on December 12, 2012 at 9:49pm I love all you people, so warm and affectionate and caring and compassionate and willing to share feelings of gains and losses, not expecting solutions but to be connected in ways that express human warmth and to laugh.

beautiful poem, I'm giving it to Ning! Thank you!
What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are
joined for life - to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each
other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with
each other in silent, unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting.
Comment by Sentient Biped on December 12, 2012 at 8:26pm Viking Don, I'm glad you had the experience, even if it turned out to be 2 ships passing in the night! That connection even if not permanent, gives hope!
Comment by Sentient Biped on December 12, 2012 at 8:25pm Kalliope, it's great you had that experience!
Also thanks for acknowledging Kamal. Activists like him are examples for us all!
Thanks to all for your kindness! I hope this group grows to encompass many in Nexus, to share our experiences of joy and sorrow and transitions and passages. It means a lot! If you know others who might be interested, or who have passages to mark, please invite them!
