Starting in mid 2006 a few people began a gathering at a local coffee shop here in Corpus Christi for non-theists. Now more than three years later we are still small but going strong.

Comment by James M. Martin on May 24, 2011 at 5:28pm: I am surprised to learn there are any atheists in Corpus at all! The RCC and one megachurch would seem to predominate here, with assorted other faiths and sects of faiths here and there. Corpus tends to be a VERY religious city, which might explain the high crime rate. Cons in jail have tattoos saying "Only God can judge me." I would remind them that there are a couple of dozen judges in the court house who might disagree with that statement. I am reluctant to come out atheist in Corpus as it only tends to complicate human relations.
