Would love to leave Georgia one day.  Too much religion and crime and ignorance here, and the state is quickly becoming more democrat.  We have 60% of blacks, whereas the whole of the US has only 13%.  Blacks usually vote democrat and are usually VERY religious.  The rednecks THINK they are republican yet often live their lives irresponsibly like a democrat.  They also abuse women and animals abd only want freedom for those who are exactly like themselves.  Where to go?  Which state in the US will maintain its true freedom and avoid socialism?

Have recently heard that New Hampshire is going Libertarian.  Go to freestate.org to check it out.  I won't be gonig...too cold and too high property taxes.
New information: IF texas was now a separate country it would be in the top five most successful in the world.  Heard it on the Boortz radio program today.  Austin sounds very enticing... and the 'hill country' with all of its wild flowers.  Perhaps it would be best if it were once again a separate country.
I'm not too sure about that. Texas is used to being a state under a federal government. If it separated, it would lose its funding for public school systems and most other subsidized aspects of society, such as law enforcement, medicare, social security, the National Guard, military protection, etc... Yes, some of these things are directly paid for by the state, but not without federal help. The state itself does not pull in enough income to support its independence. It could possibly do it, but not without radical tax reformation and tons of unhappy citizens. Just my thoughts, though...
Oh, and statistically, South Dakota has the most libertarian "aspects" (no income tax, only 8.7% of land is owned by the federal government, supermajority to raise taxes, etc.) last time I checked... might have changed since then...

I've heard about South Dakota, but I'd die of the cold the first winter.

Back to Texas...my favorite radio talk show host, Neil Boortz, said the other day that if Texas was a country, that it would be in the top most prosperous countries in the world.  Have no personal experience.  No plans to move, either.

I'm not prepare  to move soon.  I'm politically more on the Right, so I greatly fear that Austin, with all of it's liberals, would have progressively higher taxes.  But I love Objectivism, and there are a few prominent Objectivist professors at the University there in Austin.  Maybe if I lived an hour south in the Texas Hill County with all of it's wild flowers... YEAH!

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
