What Non Conservative Positions Do You Hold?

Are there positions you have that are not conservative? For instance I support same-sex marriage, legalized prostitution and the legalization of marijuana (but not other drugs) even though I would…Continue

What is the purpose of sex?

I'm curious as to what conservative atheists believe about sex. As a culturally liberal secular atheist, I believe sex should be reserved for marriage, not as the basis of a relationship but as a…Continue

Will the struggle inside the Republican Party break up the Party?

If the Israeli's boarded this ship with the intention of murdering the people on board this ship, they wouldn't have done it this way. So when asking whether or not there was footage before this clip in which the Israelis would have provoked the incident, consider that the Israeli's would not have followed up with boarding the ship this way.

Menuk, yes quantum gravity is a bit of dream job. I still have about 8 to 9 months to decide what I will study for a Ph D. I think to myself that this might be the last time I get to study theory seriously (while I'm still in college). Being less idealistic and a bit more practical something like giving sight to the blind seems like something personal enough that I wouldn't give up on it. The nerve optical interface is what I was interested in, but I don't know much more about the subject honestly. I have heard a rumor that one of these devices can give a person up to 30 pixels of sight. I don't know anything about the success of this device and under what circumstances it would work. I'm still a 1st year M.S. student so I have much to learn. I'm completing some of the "major" basic-subjects now so I hope to me more decisive sometime this summer.

It is very gripping to me every single time I see someone with a serious disability. I wish we could just break the deformed bones and set them back straight, etc. I suppose most human beings feel the same thing (have the same reaction). Anyways, I either want to be part of discovering an unalienable truth about nature which will replace all religious texts and/or heal people right here an now. I'm torn between bio-physics and quantum gravity. I'll end up settling with the one that pays the bills and allows me to raise a family.

Sam, that was funny, thanks for the laugh.

Chris, quantum gravity... that seems like a really heavy subject... ;)
With respect to the "bionic eyesight", are you focusing more on the miniaturization of the optics and electronics packages or the "optical nerve interface"? Both are very challenging, and will likely need sophisticated nanotechnology to pull it off (I'm assuming the device has to fit within the human ocular cavity).

Sam, a labotomy would be too kind, and would allow her to take more money from tax payers. ;)

Thanks for the welcome! I never went to college which is why I could barely afford this used, 5 year-old desktop but I am studying how to get legislation passed to mandate a labotomy for Nancy Pelosi...So far no luck :(

Hello Jill Welcome. I'm currently studying for a M.S. in Physics. My plan is to get a doctorate and work in research and development for a private company. I would someday like to start my own business, of course as well. In the meantime, I'm thinking of working on the development of bionic eyesight, but I'm really interested in the theory of quantum gravity. How about you? Sounds like your a busy person.

I'll try to post more during this summer! School takes up a lot of time.

Welcome Sam! Unfortunately this group is a bit dry, maybe you could add a little life to it.

Hi fellow conservatives! I met Menuk maybe a week or so ago at another site and he let me know about AN so here I am. I'm glad to see that there are more and more who share the same general political and theological beliefs as I do. I have felt really lonely for a long time in my views...

Welcome! Menuk Menmeth. Be sure to check out a similar group on Facebook. I think we're at about 100+ people now and growing!
