Are there positions you have that are not conservative? For instance I support same-sex marriage, legalized prostitution and the legalization of marijuana (but not other drugs) even though I would…Continue

What is the purpose of sex?

Started by James Healey. Last reply by Tom Sarbeck on Tuesday. 29 Replies

I'm curious as to what conservative atheists believe about sex. As a culturally liberal secular atheist, I believe sex should be reserved for marriage, not as the basis of a relationship but as a…Continue

Will the struggle inside the Republican Party break up the Party?

This guy has paved a lot of the way for us.  He does his homework pretty well.
Darwinian Conservatism by Larry Arnhart

Also, check out his book titled "Darwinian Conservatism"

Here is a link to the first edition of his book,
Darwinian Conservatism (1st edition)

Here is a link to the second edition,

Darwinian Conservatism: A Disputed Question

He is currently writing another book close to this topic, and I believe he hopes to write at least one more after that.

Egypt's al-Zawahri likely to succeed bin Laden

Hope the "impressive" intelligence seized from OBL's compound goes a long way in helping our forces nab this guy an many others.

Yay!!!  OBL is dead.  Now we just need to re-brand the war on terror as the war on radical Islam!

I'm angry at the Republicans for holding up the budget because of women's issues funding (ABORTION).  I say abort all potential welfare recepients!  Save some money!!  I'm also p.o.'d at the Democrats for stalling/shirking thier duty.

On a more positive note...I always thought that Trump was kinda a joke, but I am liking what I'm hearing from him on the radio.  He IS a great deal-maker and he's probably learned enough from his bankruptcies to be a ble to run a country.  I initially found his tv show cheesy, but it had some very good pointers on business and live.  Some Objectivism views, too.

Back to the discussion about atheists not being regarded as moral...At a Humanist meeting, there was a discussion about which charities to distribute a deceased atheist's $10,000 to.  I wanted it to go to an openly atheist charity so that more thiests/the general public would understand that morality and atheism often go hand in hand.  But at least one member protested, saying that one shouldn't give for the recognition.  The man was DEAD and he'd given his money to an atheist charity (Humanists) who were giving it to other charities!  Perhaps we need a group on AtheistNexus that goes into detail (a prospectus) where monies are spent for atheist charities and how th money is distributed.  I'd have been rolling in my grave to have had my money go to an adult reading program (half did, by vote), since taxpayers already 'give'/have taken fro them, to pay for 12 years of reading lessons.  If you haven't learned to read in 12 years, you're next to a hopeless case!  And money being sent in this direction is wasted.

I hope everyone will go to see the Atlas Shrugged movie coming out on April 15th or, at least, vote to get it in your city.  Also, heard for the first time today about an experiment going on in New Hampshire where Libertarians form all over the country are going there to live in order to try try to get ONE state in this country to be Libertarian.  Haven't been to the site yet, but heard it was thefreestateproject.org.  Also, for those atheists who lean more to the right than the left, have any of you been to the Objectivist website ObjectivistLiving ?  Haven't been on it in a while.  I've been blocked from it on one computer (by a traditional-thinking gestapo-type monitor).  What/who was this Cloward-Piven Strategy video about?  I am familiar with the strategy thanks to Neil Boortz, but am blocked from certain sites.

Chris, Re: your rant on 'religious' and 'spiritual'...

My understanding is that liberal and leftist are interchangable/the same.

Also, Neil Boortz is the only big radio talk master I can stomach and he's Libertarian and a FISCAL conservative (not a social conservative). I believe that Rush merely panders to the religious listeners and isn't religious himself.  How many of his followers would he lose if he told them he was an atheist?  Read Machiavelli.  I'm very convinced that the majority of Americans (and people allover the world) really don't 'believe' and wanna come clean/come out, but can't.  There is discrimination. The Emporer's New Clothes!!!

Religio DOES greatly affect America, but mainly in wars against Muslim countries.  I say just keep 'em out.  Christians and Jews say bomb and invade and try to make 'em democratic.  I say let them and all other fundamentalist peoples wallow in their own misery caused by their beliefs.  Christians did for centuries in Europe.

Even if every one of our founding fathers were religious, there still are moral atheists.  You are worried about perception, which does matter.  But don't be an apologist.  People are gonna find some reason to put themselves above another...it could be Marxism, religion, vegetarianism, height/weight (physical beauty),

Comment by Tonya Wynn on March 23, 2011 at 3:16pm
I am not religious. I am moral and/or ethical. I am not spiritual.  We use words as a tool to paint a picture as clearly as possible. 'Religious' and even 'spiritual' are misleading.  I feel these words mislead and even pander to the truly religious and'or superstitious.

Revealed The Left’s Economic Terrorism Playbook: The Chase Campaign...

Please consider re-posting this on your wall:
This is huge news. Here's the video to prove it. You can't say this is a conspiracy theory anymore; it's a real threat, on video, and these people are done! Please don't dismiss this, it's relevant. Even if you're a liberal, these people are a threat to our country. Understand their goal: to collapse the United States of America.

It's a plan for economic terrorism. It's real, has been real, and is now clearly exposed (The Cloward-Piven Strategy is still a relevant threat). Please share this with all of your friends.
