Greetings from the Colorado outback;

Clay Jenkinson, star of the weekly NPR show Thomas Jefferson, will do a program in Salida on Saturday, June 6th.  This event is sponsored by CCH (Central Colorado Humanists) and the proceeds will go to the CCH scholarship fund for area Seniors.   Tickets are $40 and $20 and are on sale at the BookHaven in Salida.
Jenkinson is a brilliant scholar and his NPR show is always worth listening to. {KRCC fm in Colorado Springs airs it on sunday (noon time I think).}
His appearance would be worth a mini-vacation to Salida, enjoy the area, and have a great time in an interesting town, plus meet some real nice people who are members of CCH.
I’d suggest getting tickets soon, as Jenkinson has appeared in Salida before, and was very well received by the locals.

Asa Watcher, I am not seeing the RSS feature... what it does is allow you to see activity within the group posted to your homepage (in Yahoo, MSN, etc.).
Yes, the "+ Start Discussion" will create a discussion for this group only.

As for me I am not much of a 'talker' unless I have something to say... but I do enjoy reading what others have to say (when I stop by) and will even post a response every so often.

Soooo, Bappi, what's an "RSS reader feature"? Where do I find it? What's it used for? how is it used?
Seems that we don't take advantage of the Comment Wall or the Discussion Forum as it is.
As you can see, I've figured out the Comment Wall, but what is "I'm sure you already know" started by the "Nerd" with a reply by "PizzaTheHutt" that has not had any attention since last year. Why is it still on Colorado's Discussion Forum? Will it die of old age or irrelevance soon?
If I click on "+ Start Discussion" will it appear only on Colorado's page? All these features seem a bit redundant to me, but, then, I'm still trying to figure this computer thing out.
I suppose I should be bold and just post and blog huh?
Anyway, it's fun going through the members, and welcome to Deborah Moreno.

I've activated the RSS reader feature on the group's page.

Bottle that Lakewood water. Market it as Unholy Water. Or could there be a better name to put on a label?
I enjoy this forum and the conversations. I'll have to cruise Lakewood sometime.

I guess I'm #29 of the high country heathens. I'm a native - born in Trinidad and currently living in Lakewood. Retired high school science teacher from Jefferson County Public Schools.

For those of you in the Colorado Springs area who don't know yet:

Freethinkers of Colorado Springs has a few gatherings every month.

The Evolve FISH store is located at 3410 N Carefree. I love this place!

So I clicked on "Send Message to Gr..." next to the Information bar, and my message showed up in my email at yahoo instsead of anywhere on this site (or maybe I just can't find it). So I guess that to appropriately communicate with the Colorado group I'll just post here. I'm sorry I invaded your email boxes. I didn't mean to.
I travel to Colorado Springs frequently as my wife and I have season tickets to the Philharmonic's classical series. Man, you all in the Springs have a wonderful Orchestra there, and a conductor/music director (Lawrence Leighton Smith) who is the epitomy of what a Maestro is.
Too bad the Colorado Symphony in Denver is losing its conductor next year.
Jeffrey Kahane is a real dynamo. Have to get up there to see him conduct at least once before he leaves.
The Springs is home to "Evolve Fish", a real fun place to visit. It is just a couple blocks west off Academy on, I think, N Carefree Circle. Google their website, its a gas.
Any of you in Colorado Springs members of free thinkers there? They have a neat website too: freethinkerscs.com. Of interest to all Colo residents not just those who live in the Springs. Its nice that they have potlucks and social get-togethers.
Fellowship is one of the mainstays and strengths of churches. There is no need to sacrifice those kinds of human connections when abandoning religion.
Best wishes to you all.
