Advertise!  Set a time and place, and they will come.  I might respond to a Golden location (I'm in Arvada).  The point made in your essay about being your Self without need for approval is valid for others, who may only respond to invitations.

Hi, all! I'm a Colorado native but am new to the atheist/skeptic thing... anyone have any advice for where I can meet others in the Denver or Golden area?

Just want to say hello.  I am a misplanted Colorado native living in Oklahoma.  But, hope to be living back there next spring.

Greetings! I am a board member of the Boulder Atheists and a representative to the Colorado Coalition of Reason (COCORE). In case you haven't found any local Colorado groups yet, you can check the www.cocore.org website for some links to Colorado groups. We hope you can find a place to meet with like-minded folks face-to-face on occasion.

Howdy fellow freethinkers. I just found this site and am looking to get more involved protecting all of us from religion. I have also joined Boulder Atheists. Lemme know if there are other ways to help.

My son (a CSU student) and I attended Darrel Ray's talk up at CSU last fall. It was very interesting and I hope to make it to more such events. I can't attend anything this weekend, though - we have company coming into town.

I'm fairly new here, too. We (my husband and I) currently live in Boulder but will be moving to the Loveland area in the near future. I'm a bit nervous about the move, since as an introvert I'm slow to establish new friendships and have lived in Boulder for a long, long time. So, I'm interested in any meetups that will enable me to meet like-minded people in my new area.

Thanks for saying Hi, Bob -A prospective client (theist) recommended that i visit Life Trees cafe in Loveland -he said its a chain of cafes where people with a gamut of backgrounds (x-ian, Hebrew, Isl*m, non-theist, agnostic) can come to talk about life issues, problems, etc. Do you know anything about it? He said the upcoming program is apparently about the rise of atheism? I typed in lifetree.com though and all i saw was info about getting my colon cleaned (which seems like an unnecessary luxury in todays economy). Let me know. When does the Boulder group meetup (is there info online)?  Cheers-Jay

hey - thanks for providing a forum for non-theist discussion, etc. here on the web. curious to know if there are real-life meetup type groups here in CO (i'm up in the fort collins/loveland area) or any thing like that?  looking for places to discuss life/philosophy/real life issues, etc here in a "safe" respectable place... Let me know!
