We have been through these before (in Multiply), but am representing for the benefit of those who have not seen them, nor read their bibles with understanding of how ridiculous the texts really are.

Solomon’s Sacrifices

1 Kings 8:63 "And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep." (KJV).

1 Kings 8:5 "And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the Ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude." (KJV) Note: The Good News Bible begins this verse with "King Solomon and all the people of Israel…"

I wonder if the scribe who wrote this had any idea how much ground would be covered by 142,000 oxen and sheep. They certainly couldn’t ever have been contained in the temple courtyard, nor could this number have been sacrificed in the one day. By today’s standards they would need hundreds of trucks just to take away the bones. The fat running off would fill a few swimming pools.

One Million Ethiopians

Chronicles-2 14:8 And Asa had an army [of men] that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these [were] mighty men of valour.
Chronicles-2 14:9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.

Chronicles-2 14:13 And Asa and the people that [were] with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.
Chronicles-2 14:14 And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.

Malcolm: These verses sound quite impossible. If Judah was really the Judaea of modern Israel, then the story is complete nonsense. Just imagine it. The Bible is taking for fools yet again. Here we have an enormous army, of one million Ethiopians plus 300 chariots, forging northwards past the Cataracts of the Nile and through the whole of Egypt and the across the Sinai desert to get at the Judaeans.

What do you think the Egyptians were doing all this time? At this time, Egypt was at one of the pinnacles of power which it enjoyed throughout most of the 18th and 19th Dynasties. Would they led such an army of Nubians go freely through their land? No way, Jose. Egypt was however often attacked by their southern neighbour, and this makes much more sense. The name of the king, Asa is another giveaway. This is the God Name Uasar or Asar - (better known to us as Osiris). Asa/Asar is very much an Egyptian god - and in fact God of the netherworld. Gerar is yet one more giveaway. The ancient name for Cairo was Kherar - Gerar. It is mentioned many times and always as it seems in the Delta region, which was Israel.

A million men sounds very much of an exaggeration and I also doubt that the Egyptians mustered 580,000 soldiers. At the battle of Kadesh, the Hittites beat the Egyptians with an army of 47,000.

Exodus

12:37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
12:38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

So we have 600,000 men on foot, plus children and surely women though they are not thought worthy of a mention. Then there was a ‘mixed multitude’, named as ‘a large number of other people in the Good News Bible. Who were these other people? My guess is that they had to be slaves, possibly Egyptians or Philistines. In any case they were a multitude or large number, so not less than say a hundred thousand.

The total amount of human beings would therefore have been well in excess of one million. The number of sheep would have been colossal, since they would have been the main source of protein for the Hebrew population. For example just look at the number of sheep sacrificed in one day in 1 Kings 6:83 (above).

How on earth could such a mass of people and animals survive in a desert for so many years? How too is it that there is not one mention of this amazing movement in Egyptian records, when these people were renowned for keeping accounts of everything that happened? How is it that they had no idea that the Hebrew people and their flocks were on the move until the ‘Exodus’ had got a good head start? With Egyptian border posts and military posts placed at all strategic points, how could this possibly happen?

Sheep are not noted for moving at any great speed. If you have ever been stuck behind a flock in an English country lane you would know that they are never in a great hurry to go anywhere, and they stress out if they lose sight of their leader.

So we are to believe that the King set out with 600 hundred of his finest chariots – Exodus 14:7 – and didn’t catch up until the Israelites were camped beside the shores of the Red Sea. Now let us suppose that the Red Sea did part to allow the passage across to the Sinai Desert. The scribe who wrote this nonsense obviously had no idea what the sea floor is like when the tide is out. Any wheeled cart, and there must have been many, would not have been able to keep up the speed required to move one million people and possibly as many sheep and cattle safely to the other side – some 30 miles away, even in the Gulf of Suez – before the Egyptians were among them.

We are supposed to accept that something like 2 million men, women, children and animals crossed this divide in what – half an hour, one hour, two hours? Three miles an hour is a very good pace for the fittest, and on a good flat surface this would take some 10 hours.

The story of the Exodus takes the prize for being one of the most far-fetched stories in the whole of the Bible.

Biblical Ages

5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
5:6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
5:7 And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
5:8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
5:9 And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:
5:10 And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
5:11 And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.
5:12 And Cainan lived seventy years and begat Mahalaleel:
5:13 And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:
5:14 And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.
5:16 And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:
5:17 And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.
5:18 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:
5:19 And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
5:20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.:
5:22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
5:23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:.
5:25 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech.
5:26 And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:
5:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
5:28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
5:29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
5:30 And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
5:31 And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.
5:32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

We are even supposed to believe that Moses lived 120 years. That might be possible in the Andes, or for the Hunza people of India, but for a man who had to endure all those years in the Desert?

Noah’s Ark

7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
7:3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

The Good News Bible changes this to read ‘ritually clean’. Anyway whether there were two or fourteen of every animal and every bird, no ship of a mere 500 feet in length could ever accommodate such numbers. It is such an obvious blooper, that wonders just what the scribes were getting high on.

I was a Christian for 55 years...then began intense study of the Bible in all versions. The more I studied the more I had questions that no one could answer....I just didn't ask the right people, right?

It took me many years before I could say I was an Atheist, but have been saying that for about 5 years now. My son and grandson have been Atheists long before me. My son is one who says, whatever they believe is fine with me, but, then bashes them full force when anyone will listen...lol.... and my grandson is a quiet Atheist. I didn't even know until I read it on facebook a couple years ago.

I try not to be a basher, even though when around my son, I can bash as well as he can. I try to educate instead, but, that tries my temper. I HATE when Christians join Atheist groups just to "save" some one by calling them "ignorant, satanic, hateful, immoral, etc...... and we will burn in hell unless we change."  now there's an incentive to join them :O(

I am so glad I found a place where I can be with others like me. I live in an all Christian Senior Complex so I don't have many friends, as you can guess. When one person finds something about you, it is around the entire complex in 20 minutes...it only takes that long because most of the phone lines are busy.

Have a great day :O)

Thank you for your comment Beverly.   As I have offered in the 'Christmas' blog, I can show you the means to counter any Christian argument and sometimes in the past this has helped beleaguered people free themselves from the lies that religion tries to force onto others.

I stand by my claim that the bible is evil for not only is the Old Testament full of it, but the commandment in Luke 14:26 to hate our fathers, mothers and sisters is just contemptible.   The Christian apologist will argue that it really means to love them less.   This is nonsense.    No real God would write something that is open to misunderstanding.

This is one statement that I have never been able to find in earlier scripts so I can only conclude that it came from the fevered deluded mind of some old hermit in the 2nd century when the gospels were written.   It is not in any Ancient Egyptian premise that I have been able to search.

What we do know is that it was translated from the Greek and the word used was 'Miseo'.  This can only be translated as 'hate, loathe, or detest'.      If  a god had really meant to love less, then that is what IT would have had written, and then the Greek words would have been 'Agapa Ligotera' - Love Less.

Since that is not what is written we are left with something evil from a mind full of hatred.

When I quote this back to door knockers and people in the street waving pamphlets at me, I usually find that they have no or little idea what is written in their bible.     I had some once go into such confusion one woman paced backwards and forwards mumbling gibberish.

      Good Luck,  Malcolm

Malcolm, I appreciate your reply, however, I find something that I just don't think would work. Telling a Christian that "the Bible is evil" or what they believe is "nonsense" is bashing them to their face. That will just get their back up and not listen to anything else I would have to say.

It's like when people call me "stupid" because I believe in Aliens...I don't like being called stupid...especially since I have an IQ of 135 and graduated from College. Just because I believe In something that many others don't, sure doesn't make my beliefs "evil" or  "nonsense".

Have a great day :O)

It is in the way you present it Bev.    The main point is then to point out the relevant verses, preferably by putting them as questions which you would like them to explain to you.

e.g.

1 Samuel 16:14-16 Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him. Saul's attendants said to him, "See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you. Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the harp. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes upon you, and you will feel better."

1 Sam. 18:10-11 The next day an evil spirit from God came forcefully upon Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the harp, as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand and he hurled it, saying to himself, "I'll pin David to the wall." But David eluded him twice.

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things" (Isa. 45:7).

"Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and evil come?" (Lam. 3:38).

"...evil came down from the Lord unto the gate of Jerusalem" (Micah 1:12).

There is as you will know much more and as already said I know that very few Christians are aware what is written in the Bible.  They will say that they have read it, but their minds blank out when they come to such verses.    Many of told me that they didn't know that this was in the Bible despite reading it.     Much more shocking are those verses which advocate cannibalism, such as 'Ye shall eat the flesh of your sons and daughters.

      All the best,  Malcolm

If some beasts were not clean, why herd them by sevens into the Ark? How can a five hundred year old man have Shem, Ham, and Japheth? Did he invent Viagra or Cialis? Total bullshit.

He didn't invent Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra. It just that Low T (testosterone) wasn't a problem back then.

Why is it a problem now?

Because the post-diluvian drug companies say it is. Aren't you on board with mass marketing of phony medical problems?! Restless leg syndrome, low T, etc. Recall the Rolling Stones hit, Mothers Little Helpers.

Oh, I thought the world was ending when I saw the first TV add for a medicine. What are they trying to do, cut back on the bribes to doctors?

This is the kind of story you get when you try to retell the stories of the Ancient Gods as if they happened on Earth.

Noah was the God Nnu, Ancient Egyptian God of the Heavenly Deep.

Gerald Massey (1907):

"     Ra had resolved to be lifted up in an ark or sanctuary. Nnu and his small number of companions who enter the ark or sanctuary are eight in number, four male, Nnu, Seb, Shu, and Taht, and four female, Sekhet, Nut, Hathor, and Tefnut, who can be paired thus:— (1) Nnu with Sekhet, (2) Shu with Tefnut, (3) Seb with Nut (4) Taht with Hathor.     Nnu was the deity of the heavenly water, and Sekhet is in possession of the water on the night of the great disaster or the deluge (Rit., 57, I, 2);  Sekhet is also called the “very great one of the liquid domain” (149). These are certainly a pre-Semitic form of the eight in the ark, and as Nnu was the first-born of these gods, he may be called the father of the other three in the ark as represented in the biblical version.    The whole world, however, that was divided between the three sons of Nnu, Shu, Seb, and Taht, was not on our earth; was not in Africa, Asia, or Europe.     Shu was to be the guardian of the multitudes in the nocturnal sky, Seb of the serpents in the cycles of time, and to Taht were assigned the nations of the north. Taht had a double portion.    Ra says, “I shall give thee to raise thy hand in the presence of the gods.   I shall give thee to embrace the two parts of the sky. I shall give thee to turn thyself toward the northern nations.”    This looks as if Taht were the prototype of Japheth.     Shu, whose name signifies shade, and who was to be the guardian of those who are in the sky of night, agrees with Ham, the dark of colour or black.    It was Shu who might have seen his father Nnu by night with his person exposed, as it was his work to lift up the nocturnal heaven or Nnu.    This leaves Shem as the representative of Seb.     Seb is the father of Horus on earth, and, as it was supposed, the Hebrew Messiah was to descend from Shem.    Thus it is possible to identify the new point of departure for the threefold human race derived from Shem, Ham, and Japheth, considered to be the fathers of three different and diverse races of mankind.     Ra describes the group of elder gods who preceded him as the fathers and the mothers.    “Said by his majesty, I call before my face Shu, Tefnut, Seb, Nut, and the fathers and mothers who were with me when I was still in Nun,” or previously to his issuing from the lotus in the bosom of the heavenly water.    Here we have the “fathers and mothers” of the new race or races in the new world that followed the flood ready to the hand of the “sacred historian.”     These fathers and mothers are eight in number all told, who are mentioned by name: Nnu and Sekhet, Seb and Nut, Shu and Tefnut, Taht and Hathor.    These are eight persons in four pairs of consorts, exactly the same as the eight consorts in the ark of Noah."

Wow, another A|N person who has read Massey! He played a big role in my evolution from believer to skeptic to atheist. Another was H. P. Blavatsky. Although she named her movement "God Love," the first thing she says at the front of the book is: "THERE IS NO RELIGION HIGHER THAN THE TRUTH."

I've gone much further than just reading Massey.    I just had to check everything after so many deceptions.    But it was still after reading some books by Ralph Ellis that I got drawn into learning Ancient Egyptians and to check his translations for myself.  That led to many new discoveries.

The most important thing with Egyptians was to maintain THE TRUTH.   They made all rulers swear to uphold MA'AT.    The plural in Egyptian is usually formed by adding the letter 'W' similar to the English 'S', or Dutch 'EN'.   So TRUTHS becomes MA'ATW in Egyptian or if you like, 'Matthew'.    Similarly the Egyptian word for Creation, or Being, or 'I Am' is HEPRE, hence the Biblical name for God as 'I AM'.   The plural of Creation is 'HEPREW' and this is written with the hieroglyph of a SCARAB Beetle.

I'm putting an emphasis on these words as they are all so important in the final understanding.    You see St.Ambrose and three other RC bishops of the 4th century all referred to Jesus as 'The Good SCARABaeus'; another way of saying, 'The Good Hebrew' or 'The Good Creationist'.

Mark also has to be Egyptian or at least very well versed in the old Egyptian language.  They loved to use puns and Ralph Ellis gives many examples.   However I spotted this one in Mark 8:33.    Set, Sat, or Sut was the Egyptian name for the brother of Uasar (Greek Osiris).  The 'n' on the end is merely the genitive case.   But like many words in English including 'devil' this word also meant 'Rock' or 'Hillock', so when the scribe referred to Jesus as The Rock, he naturally turned it into a pun based on the double meaning of Set as a Rock.

John was a popular name in Egypt where we see it as Khyan (Cain) or Khyanni - Greek 'Yannis', hence Manethos listing Khyan as Yannis.

I have had many spiritual experiences which seem to point to some kind of Universal Hard Disk where energy of all kinds gets stored and which we can tap into.  This is nothing like the odious biblical god that commands eating the flesh of one's children and hating one's mother, father and siblings (Luke 14:26).    Luke too had to have been well versed in Egypt to have read the hieroglyphs in Egyptian Temples and so copy them into his gospel.    Everything points to the Egyptian Copts who very likely started off with the Serapis Cult.
