Dunno, Blue.  The five or six black guys at my atheist group's pool party, this past weekend, have no problem with homosexuality.  I suspect that it's mostly just that one guy.  He apparently hasn't shrugged off that part of the conditioning of his previous social group.

 

Oh, and I've run into one or two, Mike.  They're just very, very rare, within the atheist community.

I say this with trepidation, but what is the problem some black atheists seem to have with homosexuality? I've never heard a coherent — and I use that word loosely — argument against homosexuality that didn't begin with some kind of god concept. I also haven't heard a single non-black atheist say a peep about gay marriage, except to support the idea.

Yup, he's a bit of an idiot.  He either needs to present a coherent argument for why he's against gay marriage, or he needs to get off the phone.

Yup.  You get some debate gold, but there's a good bit of jibberish to sort through.  YouTube is helpful that way.

Chariots of Iron. That was the name of a great AtheSkeptiHumanist podcast I used to REALLY enjoy. Don't think they're doing it anymore though. Too bad...   ;-)

Oh yeah, there's a significant amount of variation.  You can listen to two different podcasts for the same month-long period, and if there's nothing significant happening, like the May 21st thing, you may not get any overlap in news coverage.  There's just so much going on in the world, and different people focus on different things.

 

Of course if you listen to Chariots of Iron during the month of June and any other podcast during the month of June, you'll get zero overlap, too.  :-D

I wouldn't say that, there's a lot of information out there to be had, and differing opinions (within the secular sphere), for me though it is just a lack of time.

I used to, but really in the past couple years since we started Chariots my time to listen to Podcasts has been reduced to about zero. I'll catch an episode here or there if an interesting interview comes up (Price, Carrier, PZ, etc...)
