Hi gang, I was recently on the air on Wretched Radio, hosted by Todd Friel. They will be replaying the 2 hour show all weekend on their website. If you have time, check it out. When you get to the site, just click on 'Listen up' and the media player pops right up. Unfortunately, they just loop the show all weekend so you cant go right to my call, but this stuff is worth hearing.

The show focused on creationism and had an 'expert', Paul Taylor, in to take calls. He was pretty dense. I am not completely happy with my call, as I was a little nervous and inarticulate, but I think I did present him with some questions that I dont think he did the best job of answering. Then, he started telling me why I believe what I believe. Sheesh >)

Some are confused as to why I might want to listen to or engage with these people, but I think it is important to actually know the arguments that they bring forth so that we can systematically and logically break them down. It is also important for those who might be listening, who may be open to logic, to hear some of our arguments. After all, many of us used to be believers and are no longer partly because we heard the arguments that demonstrate that our beliefs were not supported by logic or reason or facts. Ultimately, while frustrating, this stuff is just fascinating to hear come out of people's mouths.

Anywhoo, lemme know what you guys think.

Aloha

Downloaded #50 first evening of my trip, using the free wifi in the hotel bar, directly to my iPhone. Great episode. Ain't technology grand, (when it works)?

Make that sometime today... have I mentioned all the technical problems we've been having lately?

We should be getting a show up sometime today, we've had some server issues and we're working on them. Apologies to all, we've just had a "perfect storm" of issues recently.

Although I miss my chariots exponentially every passing day (Hopefully not waiting in vain), I've listned to Richard dawkins read "The origin of the species" audiobook, read misquoting jesus & Jesus interupted, and found myself in a pair of 1-2 hour debates with my fundamentalist christian Boss. I need my chariots to ease my troubled mind, so I don't take it out on my boss anymore:). Bottom line: Iz Waiting Wit Bated Breath...

I will say that the long delay in the shows has allowed me to catch up on my audio book listening. I'm almost through Kim Stanley Robinson's "Red Mars". Is it cool with everybody else if the guys shelve the next few episodes until I'm done with Green Mars and Blue Mars, too? Also, I have all six books of David Brin's Uplift series to get through...

I have an interview suggestion for you.
Jeff Ricks is the founder of Post-Mormon.org, an internet support group for people who have left or are leaving the LDS church. They are a non-profit group currently raising money to put up a billboard in downtown Salt Lake City during the month of December. They have succeeded in previous ads, but this one is much more ambitious than any before.
You can contact him through their website or contact me if you like.
