Season 2, Episode 50: Teabagging Hutaree: How Political Posturing Is Fomenting Sectarian Militantism

With our sincere apologies, we bring you our very late, latest episode. Please forgive our tardiness and our wretched sound quality. When I say wretched sound quality, I mean fucking awful. In this episode, we discuss the Tea Party, Hutaree and America's angry political climate. We're fortunate enough to be Joined by Brother Richard, who brings some political balance to the discussion.

At long last the void which has been part of my MP3Player may now be filled.
I commented on your site already, but wanted to add a little more nuttiness for flavor.

I’m here in Virginia where they recently held a gun-owners rally in a national park north of my city — it was the closest they could legally get to Washington, D.C. with a loaded weapon. They brought semi-automatics, hand guns, rifles, shotguns, etc., the works, a gun show fire sale parking lot. They did it as a warning to the president to be wary of taking their guns.

The irony is it was illegal for people to bring guns into a national park like they were doing until the Obama administration passed legislation making it legal (pissing off a lot of liberals). So if it wasn’t for the administration they were threatening from that park with those guns, they wouldn’t be able to go to that park and threaten the president with those guns.

It's of a piece with keep your government hands off my medicaid.
Woot episode! :D
Great Episode guys. I was reminded of this article I read in TIME magazine from March 29, 2010 which says:

"the Hutaree are a symptom of the continuing militia phenomenon, one that seems to have gained impetus since the election of Barack Obama as the first African-American President of the U.S. The Southern Poverty Law Center says that last year alone, the number of patriot and militia groups increased 244%, to 512. Though not necessarily racist, such groups fiercely oppose the federal government. In recent weeks, the health care debate seems to have fueled antigovernment sentiment that is far different from the last noticeable rise in extremist-group activity, after the 1992 election of Bill Clinton. "These shifts are a little more than some people can take," says Heidi Beirich, the Southern Poverty Law Center's director of research."

Keep up the great work and the interesting topics!
What's the schedule now guys. I'm feeling very unsatisfied by that last episode. How about some cross promotion. Have you thought of getting the guys from Irreligiosphy on the show? Whose guys are pretty funny.
