Cancer

If you have cancer.

If you had cancer.

If you know someone with cancer.

If you want to talk about cancer.

We won't pray.  We won't blame gods.  We won't give credit to gods.

We face the diagnosis and know, it is what it is.

To the extent that we can, we will define our own course.

Cancer

Cancer changes lives.

We have to deal with medical profession.

We have to deal with medications.

We have to deal with new discomfort and pain.

We have to create dignity, where there is indignity.

We have to deal with family members, friends, coworkers, and strangers, in a changed way.

We resolve to go forward with strength, resilience, purpose, pride, and integrity.

We define ourselves. Cancer does not define us.

What da hell is a ''good night's sleep"?????? It's been so many years now, I'm sure I wouldn't recognize one if it slapped me.

If I don't get a good night's sleep, I'm toast!  I have to take a nap!  A lot of times I think I am just lazy.  I'm just not a go-getter!  It's such a feeling of accomplishment for me when I do a ton of things on my list in a day. ;)

......and somebody to brush our fur?

My energy window is at best 4 or 5 hours, so I'm lucky there. How about a sloth party in a sunny beechwood? We'll hang in the trees, watch the light on the leaves and feel good while doing nothing. I'll bring some food.

A ha! the pacemaker is for me too!

Comment by Patricia on April 2, 2014 at 7:56pm

The pacemaker one is for my husband, the sleep one for me, & the others are for everyone.

When I get home, I put the food away & then sit with my coffee until I have to get dinner. Shopping days are usually simple & quick dinner days so I don't have to do a lot of prep. My sleep issues don't allow me to nap, but my husband naps as his lousy heart makes him fatigued too, so we're a great pair at times.....hahaha!

Daniel, just to set the frame, here is a thought for the day in the form of a photo, to relax, enjoy the resting time, and know your body is working, even if you are not.
