Hey All, I'm in Victoria. Perhaps it's because I live in somewhat of a freethought bubble, but my town doesn't seem too overbearingly Christian or anything. Been having some interesting chats with neighbourhood Jehovah's Witnesses and Baha'i though. Experimenting I suppose, to see just how far I can relate and respectfully discussing the points at which I can't. So far, so cool. I've been invited to several gatherings, which I have politely and firmly declined.
I have some VERY Christian family members across the water though. We're cool (and not that close). They were among the influx of German immigrants in the 50s to Vancouver, who helped several other German families to become established in Vancouver. They are for the most part, very lovely people. Again, I can relate, to a point. The Christian charity thing is great.. it just bugs me when I see the less than "Christian" hate-mongering re: gay hate, etc.. thankfully at least my aunt is not like this.
