The photo displayed is of Harlem soapbox orator, agitator, popular educator, & atheist Hubert Henry Harrison.

Documentation of black atheism, freethought, & humanism on the web can be found in my atheist web guide.

See also my working bibliography.

I also have a general interest blog, Reason & Society.

Some of you may also be interested in some of my other projects, e.g. The Autodidact Project, my Studies in a Dying Culture (blog), and my Emergence blog. You can also listen to my podcasts: my Internet radio show is called "Studies in a Dying Culture," hosted by Think Twice Radio.

I feel the same way as well Pontious Pilate. Real conversations and not the totally brain dead variety, I have to ratchet my own brain back to normal levels, it is exhausting repeating the same old, same old. Here the water is refreshing and enlightening. Welcome aboard new members and see this group is growing.

Welcome to Kym, our 160th member. We just recently passed the 150th mark. I hope new members won't feel slighted if I don't personally welcome each and every one. My energies are scattered across dozens and dozens of projects, and I can't keep up with everyone individually. But I'm gratified to see the growth of this group as well as of comparable groups on Facebook and elsewhere.

Thanks alot man. It's a real honour for me to be able to converse with other black freethinkers. We're like a minority within a minority. Thanks to people like Greydon Square black people are proudly coming out of the atheist closet. We need groups like this.

Hey peeps. My name's David and I'm looking forward to contributing to this group because the black community needs Christianity like a hole in the head.

Shout out to my baby brother Michael and to the father of freethought hip-hop Greydon Square. Westside! :)
One Love,
