I have an old field guide that I used when the kids were small. I also use Bird Pictures and Songs of Eastern Washington available on the internet. I have to train my eyes to see quickly, the body size, wings, tail and head features. I'm not much good at remembering. I see the bird and get into the guide and forgot what I saw. I am getting better.

That is a wonderful video post Joan. Did you buy a field guide to help you? Sibley is a very good guide.

I moved back inside with my binoculars and watching birds at the feeders. Having trouble identifying what I am seeing. They are a bit different from the summer birds I see when I am out there with them.

Those pictures are lovely Ruth.

Anyone see any birds lately that they would like to share with us?

The eagle's talons have working capacity! I imagine it could grab a small dog or a cat. Remember that hoax of an eagle carrying off a baby?
