Comment by booklover on November 24, 2012 at 8:24am That's wonderful Joan! I am happy for you that you had such a nice Thanksgiving. ~ Melinda
Comment by Joan Denoo on November 24, 2012 at 3:19am My Thanksgiving was just perfect, even as we missed my son and his family who live in Littleton, CO and my granddaughter and her family with all five adorable great-grand children who were with another set of grandparents!
We had a nice full table of family, the turkey tuned out to be a perfectly deep brown and all the fixin's tasted yummy. We had great conversation, including all the forbidden topics. Just the kind of gathering I like around me. Everyone pitched in and made the day perfect. I like help in the kitchen and each one in the family knows how to help and not get in each other's way. My tiny little kitchen has served many a meal over the years.
Comment by Joan Denoo on November 24, 2012 at 3:18am Melinda, I am sorry I could not remember that you led us to that delightful photo of thanksgiving bird and cat! I laugh every time I think about it. Thanksgiving morning with the Turkey squabble just a couple of blocks from my home made us all laugh. Those creatures have become truly pets.
Steph, thanks for the assist.
Lillie, your story of the whooping cranes following their light weight flying machine master gives me goose bumps. Imagine the thrill is seeing that flight through. I hope there will be follow-up stories on this particular flock.
Tony, your photos of birds and their diverse plumage reassures me of the great powers of evolutionary forces.
I went birding this morning - not shopping with the crazies.
I love the Puffbird Tony.
Thank you.
Comment by booklover on November 23, 2012 at 8:01am Great pictures everyone! Joan, it is so cool that you and your neighbors leave cracked-corn along the street for the turkeys! We see them in our neighborhood off and on too.
Steph was right, I posted that cat/turkey pic. I love it! I hope that cat finally got some turkey!!! :)
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I am NOT going shopping today! lol
