Five Whoopers are flying into St. Marks Wildlife Refuge south of Tallahassee tomorrow to over winter and are being led by their light weight flying machine master.  This will be the first time Whoopers will be over wintering at this refuge which will be exciting for bird watchers in the area.

The turkey is in the oven and smells so good, all stuffed with dressing filled with lots of herbs I picked this morning. I hope you all have a wonderful day with family and friends, that you have delicious food, stimulating conversations ... not just the weather or sports or work, but real rip-roaring invigorating discussions. I am send this picture you have all seen, but I just love it.

WHEN IS DINNER?!!!

Forgive me, I forgot who sent this, and it delights me. Thanks to whoever sent it. I usually keep the name of the sender with their photos, but not this time.

Police called to South Hill turkey squabble

These turkeys roost someplace to the east of me and go past my house to get to Manito Park pond to the west of me. Our neighbors and I keep cracked corn along the street to nourish them on their journey.

Thanks Sentient. A lovely image of a bird that brings us so much pleasure. Was it Ben Franklin who wanted turkey for the national bird?
