My poor, ignorant, old, freak stepmother still tells me Obama is a Muslum.
This mentality is difficult to tollerate, but I have for 41 years...Thank Dog, I never had to live with them!!
If you can't beat 'em, beat em...:) If only.
I drove around with my Obama cardboard after adding "Yes We Did" to it. This really pissed her off...Oh that and my bumpersticker, next to Obama/Biden, that read "Sorry I missed church, I was busy doing Witchcraft and becoming a Lesbian".
How can unimformed, ignorant folks continue to keep their blinders on? I just don't understand. Do they ever open their eyes?????

I was so happy last night. I really felt that I was part of this historic moment. I felt as if I won. Congrats President Obama!

I'm so pleased that Obama won. I grew up in the south, and I was disappointed in the amount of racist text messages/jokes that I received from friends and family members who still live there. I'm also disappointed in the reaction from my conservative christian friends. Apparently, I have no morals because I voted for Obama. We've come a long way, but we still have a long way to go!

Halloween is only a few days away, so tonight I got to work at carving my pumpkin. No crazy faces this year, but rather the Obama "O" logo is on my jack-o-lantern. A picture can be found here!

Both in 2000 and 2004, our neighbors' lawns were plastered with Bush/Cheney signs. A similar enthusiasm for McCain seems to be missing this year, though. I'm curious if this artistic gesture will affect the amount of trick-or-treaters that come to the door.

Here is a semi-humorous piece I wrote yesterday in response to the "Joe the Plumber" schtick that McLame used during Wednesday's dabate. Of course, this scenario would actually do the country a great deal of good if implemented, but DYHB. In any case, it's good consciousness raising for progressive-minded people, and if you get a kick out of it, feel free to pass it along by e-mail or post it on Web venues:

APPOINT Obama President on 11/05/08

This is a call for “Us Sheeple” to demand an immediate change of shepherds.

If Barrack Obama is elected President on November 4th, as now looks likely, it would be best for the country if President Bush and Vice President Chaney were to resign on November 5th, leaving Nancy Pelosi as acting President. She could then appoint Obama as Vice President, and as soon as he was confirmed by the Senate, resign and go back to her regular job as Speaker of the House. And Joe Biden could be appointed as Vice President and also confirmed as soon as possible.

The advantages of such a plan are obvious – it would avoid having a “lame duck” President in power for almost three months in the middle of the biggest financial crisis since 1929. President Obama could immediately start dealing with the nation's problems, making his “transition” with the help of ex-Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter and other Democrats, instead of having to deal with Bush, Chaney, and the Neocons who pull their strings from behind the scenes. In fact, this immediate cutting of the strings might be enough in itself to give Americans in all walks of life, from Main Street to Wall Street, the encouragement they need to start thinking positively again.

The only disadvantage I can think of is the difficulty of persuading Bush and Cheney to step down, and I can see several good reasons why they would make such a choice. First of all if Bush and Chaney REALLY care about the well being of the United States of America, they will realize the plan I just described is nothing more than plain old common sense. And even if they're as self-centered and narrow-minded as their actions in office indicate they are, they should be smart enough to realize the immediate resignation after the election may reduce the chances that they will be indicted for crimes or sued for damages after they leave office.

Please think this “wild idea” over carefully, and if you conclude that it actually sounds like a good thing to do, pass this message, or your own rewording of it, to anyone you think might read it with an open mind....

The joke going around my circle is that no matter who gets in office this election, they won't last long. If McCain is elected, a feminist will assinate hime so a woman is president. And if Obama is elected, a KKK'er will take him out. So we will be let with a woman or another old man.
