Atheist Nexus

The World’s Largest Coalition of Nontheists and Nontheist Communities!

This is a game, similar to the Lyrics Quiz discussion in the Bandstand group.

The rules are simple: someone posts the depiction of a work of art (painting, sculpture, pottery, architecture, etc.), and a question others have to answer to, in order to take their turn.

To stick to the group's theme (A TRICK OF THE EYE), the work must have an aesthetic component to it. I know this is very subjective, so use common sense here and try to avoid readymades, shock art and meta-art if possible.

Searching the internet is OK, and even encouraged. The idea here is to have you to look for and discover new stuff.

Let's start with this:

You have to guess the author and the title.

This one looks vaguely familiar, yet it is harder to figure out than I initially thought. It reminds me of a similar work (I think the name was 'Hypnos'), by another artist.
I'm not sure what the inspiration was for this sculpture, it does look very similar to the Hypnos. If you're really good you could, or have the software for it, you could probably zoom into the plaque.
By the same artist:

Funny. The first one made me think of Hypnos, now this one reminds me of Cerberus. I, or the artist, must have a fixation with Greek mythology.
Lol....That's pretty funny. Cerberus is a bit of a stretch for me, but I can see where you're coming from.

The artist had the nickname 'Rodin’s hands' while working as his assistant.
Then if it's not Rainer Maria Rilke, it must be Anna Golovkina.
Hehe...It's Anna Golubkina.

Your move.
Er, Golubkina, that's it. I've heard of her, but had never seen her name spelt before :(
Artist and title.

Hint #1: the artist is almost universally seen as the first cubist sculptor.
Hint #2: the artist is from Central Europe.
Looks like this piece by Jacques Lipschitz but not the same, am I in the right direction?
