@Diana A.: I will want to read that one. During my occult period, I wrote a book and self-published it: "Liber LXIX: Sexual Magick in Theory and Practice." I recounted such things as how a particularly odious epithet for the female pudendum, "cunt," was in ancient times a sacred name for the Goddess (Cunti). I told of how the antinomian Gnostics of the early middle ages made serpents to coil about their sacrament prior to eating it, then turned off the lights and had congress with an unfamiliar partner in the darkness of the orgies. The book was the result of several years of study.

Does working on 2-3 projects at once result in never finishing any of them? Does anyone in the group write "hard and fast" at least through the first draft? What is the difference between a "novel" and a "memoir"? Is it sick to want to write stories, plays, whatever, in which the protagonist was a real person who committed suicide? (Well, the one on Virginia Woolf comes to mind; maybe I should pitch it to that guy.) Enquiring mind wants to know.

There are six of us working on this joint production, and we have so far avoided any conflicts. My fellow writers include two apatheists (don't know, don't care), a Mormom, a Baptist who is taking an outside course in counseling at Liberty University, a reformed Catholic who is also on A/N, and myself. Coming to verbal blows over politics, religion, or any other topic has not yet occurred.
The group goal is to keep ourselves motivated and also to encourage other writers by publishing ideas and examples. Please feel free to browse, comment and share the blog. We are putting together a chap book of our work to try to increase the awareness of creative writing as an artistic outlet in our area.

It was a pleasant surprise that our common interests in writing overcame the very deep differences in our beliefs.
