Have you heard?  AA has always stated at meetings and in outreach, "This is a spiritual, not a religious organization." The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking...BUT, in Indianapolis, Des Moines and Toronto, AA groups for atheists and agnostics got kicked out of the local meeting directory for reading a secular version of the Twelve Steps.  http://rebelliondogspublishing.com/fr_home.cfm - click on the GOD and MAN link to see a PDF article from RENEW Magazine.  It is an interesting case of knee-jerk conservative influence peddling in an attempt to hide from a more secular world.

Therese: Thanks for sharing this! I've been writing a lot of essays lately along these lines and it's great to have someplace to send such writing!

Just a reminder to anyone and everyone that my latest book, The Little Book of Unholy Questions, is available in paperback and Kindle formats. Check it out, it has unanimously great reviews and is a comprehensive cumulative case against an omni-God set out through 501 questions asked directly to God.

Cheers

Hi there

Are there any published authors here who want to review my latest book for an endorsement on the cover, inside or annotation. It will be mutually beneficial as will provide publicity for you and your book. I am an author of several books including Free Will? and The Little Book of Unholy Questions. Check out my blog and an excerpt if you want. PM me for an electronic copy on johnnyp_@hotmail.com. The book is The Nativity: A Critical Examination and is a thorough debunking of the historicity of the nativity of Jesus in 160 concise pages.

Cheers

Thanks!  I like how several of the reviewers referred to the book as "provocative"... great term for selling books.

Thank you, Annie.  And, by the way, here's the link to the book: http://www.continuumbooks.com/books/detail.aspx?BookId=166691&S...

Comrades, Just wanted to let you know that my new book came out yesterday.  It is titled, The Modernist God State: A Literary Study of the Nazis' Christian Reich.  I try to accomplish two separate things in the book.  First, I challenge the traditional view that western culture has become increasingly more secular.  Instead, I argue that Christians found new and more sophisticated ways to control the modern body politic.  Second, I demonstrate that Hitler and the Nazis consistently claimed that they were a Christian Party.  I also define the specific version of Christianity that they adopted.

Some of you might find the book worth reading.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

All Best,

michael

Hello Atheist Writers, I am so impressed by the many books you have published and I have been working on one for 35 years. The words just do not get together in a powerful way, So, perhaps if I read your comments, I will get some spark of life into mine.
