No more UC for me, but still feel comfortable in the cop shop. From Highland Park to Coachella Valley in Cali is where it went down. BNE, NTF Agent. Gotta tell you I was shocked to find the group. Be safe.

Hay all!!! Former LAPD officer here with 12 total years, 3 as a Line Reserve, and 9 Regular.
If anyone went to see that new movie "End of Watch" it's about (and takes place in) one of the Divisions I worked for 15 months, Newton Street Division. It's EXTREMELY accurate with only a couple of "Hollywoodisms."

Just saying hi, guys! I am a former STAR officer for the Independence Kansas Police Department. I still have close ties with LEO's, especially in my old department. It's great to find some other LEO's, former or current, that share the same views. You don't find that too often, it seems. Anyway, Hello!

Hey everyone, I'm a Deputy with the USMS, and am, as far as I know, the only atheist in my office. I've just started work in Denver, but was originally in one of the South Carolina offices and it came out there that I was an atheist and it didn't go over too well. So I'm hesitant to tell anyone in this office so it's great to find a group like you guys who share the same viewpoints!

Not currently in law enforcement but as an unemployed librarian I am giving Law Enforcement a second look, especially Texas Dept. of Public Safety (State trooper) which has a recruiting shortfall right now, and Houston Police Department, which is also recruiting. My local suburban PD (Sugar Land) is not actively recruiting right now. I have an old High School JROTC buddy who is an HPD lieutenant, whom I ran into on Facebook, who was deeply religious in High School and still is to this day. He commented on my atheism once and we did have a few back-and-forth discussions, but I let it trail off as I didn't want to offend him. Now that I'm unemployed and back living in Houston, he has been very encouraging when I asked him if I thought I was too old (39) to consider a new career as a LEO. He said I was not too old, even offered to show me around the police academy when I asked if there were tours available for the public, etc. We can have normal, enjoyable conversations as long as we don't bring up religion. Although I'm "out" to friends and family, I think I'd keep mum on the job, as I have in most jobs, unless I know a co-worker who is also a nonbeliever. With the friend in HPD, I think it's best to just let sleeping dogs lie; If he doesn't bring up religion again I won't either. I don't know if there's anything he could concretely do to help me with joining HPD, and I would be reluctant to even ask, but I certainly don't want to piss him off and then have someone who could undermine my efforts, either.

Hello, all. I'm a Lieutenant with the NJDOC with 20 years on the job. Like many of you, I am the only "out" atheist that I know of in my agency. It is nice to find a like-minded group!

Hi brothers and sisters in blue. I am with Denver PD, even in a department that size, I only know 4 other out of the closet atheists. Does anyone know of a law enforcement non-theist group? Google didn't come up with anything.

This group should be featured. I'm sure there are more officers on the Nexus. I'm not a cop, but I work for the police department on campus. I'm just a measly Campus Safety Officer. I basically do the leg work during special events(sports, presidential visits,etc).

25 years in Corrections in the East Texas Bible Belt. I'm not sure it is safe to come out at work.
