Hello my fellow ex-Muslim atheists. I'm from the cosmopolitan city of Leicester in Britain. I have never met any ex-Muslims in person, but that doesn't bother me. This is the age of the internet. :-)

Riaz: Could you change the setting that allows more than three discussions to show up in the discussion forum? Some people might not know about clicking on "View All".

i could only accept the quran on a theistic POV. i may be pushing the envelope on this but, proof that god exists is not possible beyond the quran it self and taweed concepts of god are hadithist works but, it is hard to say that god exists in any logical mannor and to use any human consept is beyond the scope of human reasoning, so even hadithily speaking their point is to accpet god and his laws and give up on the theology.muslim view of theology seems to be unreasonable to some degree but sane . the whole god no god argument goes out the window with the quran. morally i have little issue with the quran it self. the sharia taken to the hadith extreme is where it gets thick and beyond reality. one could be very atheist and still follow quranic law and be a muslim. does salat really mean pray in the formal prostration 3 or 5 times a day and what does that really say when you do it? yes there is a god, and yes i will commit to good behaviors and the laws provided in the quran. bang your a good muslim!!

I actually have a couple of Quriani friends, they're cool. Very open minded, logical and secular... The thing is that in the Islamic world they view them as kafir's as well, especially in Egypt because of Al Azhar. Their main argument is that only Quran is Islam and whatever Mohammed thinks are more or less his ideas, they actually use Quran to prove that.. I would have been much nicer if all Muslims though this way...

any of you ex-muslims ever look or heard about submitters and the quran only islam? or heard about the misuse of the word salat or zakat?
everything i have seen points to deism in the quran almost.
also does anyone have any opinions on the sufi jihadi movement?

all the connections i have seen with sufis, DC and taliban they are so intermixed that anyone who understands it may conclude that wahabis/salafis are not involved in jihad it is the socalled peaceful islam of sufis.

anyways these submitters and quran only people what is there deal. they same to be quranically correct about the hadiths being bida and shirk in the kalima.

what is the deal with them? are they for real or some type of group that is trying to dismantle islam intellectually?
the arabic script seems to reveal and almost jewish atheistic/theisitic bent to it.

any opinons??

I think the point of the ex-Muslim article is they left an oppressive country b/c they wanted a better life; they don't want that oppressive society to follow them to a new land under the guise of being tolerant of other cultures.
