Whether you're a professional, a student, an amateur, an enthusiast, whatever! Lots of atheists love science. Might as well have a group for it!

Feel free to nerd out, link articles, talk about your favorite field of research, whatever!

I've been super busy with school this semester -- no time for Atheist Nexus, sadly!!
If anyone who's around here a lot wants me to toss them moderation privileges to run this group or anything, just send me (Sara) a message! Thanks!

Removed ability to send mass messages to everyone in the group. At 1000+ members, that seems like asking for spam.

Offer still open if anyone active in the group wants moderation privileges, but it appears everything has been going smoothly with all kinds of great discussions without moderation. Fantastic! :)

Though the message is entirely true, I have about had it with the abuse of the fake drawing hand software. Ready to move on !
The true definition of altruism is to help others... not to help oneself, but modern altruism has become a way of making oneself feel good, could we call it societal narcissistic altruism? :)

Throughout history, nations rise and fall based on their philosophical foundations. Nations that support flourishing of its architects, artists, commerce, engineers, mathematicians, musicians, philosophers, scientists, and writers flourish.
It is when investigation overrules revelation that innovation can occur. Unfortunately, as Islam returned to revelation for their philosophical foundation and reverted back to Bronze Age mentality, so, too, is USA.

Interesting video Joan.  It sounds like those nasal cells work like stem cells, changing to the type of cell needed to get the dog walking again.

@Tom Sarbeck, I have had the same thoughts about the changes that took place during and since Reagan's administration. One way a clever person might be able to do it is by using Gapminder, but I am not able to make it work. I wrote Hans Roslin the creator of this program to see if I could figure out a way to do it. But got nowhere. Are you good at these kinds of things?

@ Loren Miller, perhaps you could figure it out.

I am sure someone can create a graph such as Grinning Cat posted with her graph.
