The World’s Largest Coalition of Nontheists and Nontheist Communities!

Thought I would post some good news. As of now "Creationism is not appropriate for Children" has been played 3,192,951 times since it was uploaded on 8/23/12. It appears on You Tube's "Most Popular" page.

Perennial favorite, Bill Nye, "the Science Guy," begins the video saying, "Denial of evolution is unique to the United States..." He goes on to talk about how odd that is given our technological advancement and leadership. He winds up this video declaring that "Creationism is not appropriate for children... [I]f grownups want to deny evolution and live in your world that's completely inconsistent with everything we observe in the universe, that's fine, but don't make your kids do it because we need them." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHbYJfwFgOU&feature=related

Why are we so unusual in the Western developed world?
We can say because of the right wing lunatic extremists in the ascendancy.
To me, that begs the question. Even before their visibility and power had risen, creationists held sway in many quarters. Why so many of them and why so visible?
One more question that puzzles the hell out of me, why are so many people who do accept evolution still theists??!

(P.S. the YouTube bad news? The #1 most popular YouTube video, with 4,456,848 views is Kid on Bike Eats It. I disapprove because its mean but I still laughed at the very end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otK1ROFzf6s&feature=b-mv
