I'm Sara and I'm an undergrad geology major/biology minor, entering my senior year this fall, and hopefully grad school next year. I've been in love with the science of paleontology since early childhood, but I'm fascinated by just about any science you can name.
My intended area of research when I get to graduate school is Ediacaran paleontology, the Ediacaran being the geologic period spanning the latest Proterozoic, immediately before the Cambrian explosion. These fossils include the first known metazoans, but predate the evolution of hard body parts, and thus are very rare and precious finds in the rock record. These organisms are dramatically different from those found in the Cambrian, and present a great puzzle in the history of multicellular life! Fun stuff.
