Comment by jim copeland on March 28, 2012 at 8:43pm Steph S, if that's a real painting, it's a very good copy, i guess you know, of Turners 'Fighting Temeraire'. But i'd guess it's a comp gen digital work. The right half is way too close to be someone's copy. If you did it, WOW.
Comment by Nerdlass on March 28, 2012 at 7:00pm I really miss doing art. Right now, I am learning shodo (Japanese calligraphy) and ikebana. Art was my major in college, and I focused on ceramics, before moving on to metals. I'll share some of my college work when I have a chance and am not at work. :) My senior project centered around wire sculpture through nancy-knitting and crochet. Though my teacher was hesitant for my vision (she was more apt to appreciate technique and application than the initial concept)--I was greatly inspired by learning about superstring theory, branes, and the theory of everything. Unfortunately, I'm far from knowledgeable on that particular science, so it's artist's inspiration only... It may be that my teacher thought I'd lose the audience by bringing it up...
